"The Amuarama Hotel is spacious with live greenery everywhere, a nice pool, a large rotating staff always ready to help (English not strong though). The front desk does not make change even from a 50 real note ($10), and the local ATMs need a Brazilian id to get money out, even the "24 hour" system which is supposed to be international. Excellent buffet breakfast, varied, fresh fruit, juices, never a problem with the food which is always fresh and covered from occasional flies and the rare small...

"We actually did not stay here because the ATLANTIC OCEAN IS NOT A HOTEL!!!! It is a condominium where some people rent their apartments. The very nice lady at the gate told us it is a condominium and furthermore, she did not know we were coming because no one had told her. They were going to make up the room but this took more than an hour. We decided to make a reservation at a real hotel."

"The room was fantastic. Better than anticipated. The balcony was important to me and the main reason I chose that hotel. It was very large and comfortable with the view right over the ocean. The sliding glass doors opened all the way the entire width of the room like pocket doors. This meant you could doors wide open and the sea breeze blowing through the room. It was great. Special thanks to the English speaking front desk guy who gave me the best room in the hotel. Would not look to stay anywhere else in Fortaleza. "
