"Our family of 6 stayed at Murden Cove last week. We all felt like we had hit the VRBO jackpot staying in this beautiful old house. It sits very close to the water and the beautiful views of the cove, the Canadian geese, great blue heron, sea gulls, beautiful sunrises and the fog blowing through the evergreens across the bay were all a constant marvel. The grounds around the house are quite beautiful, filled with blooming hydrangea, rosemary, flowering oregano and apple trees filled with apples. We spent a lot of time on the deck overlooking the cove and on the grassy hill just next to the house. The house itself is lovely and cozy, decorated with an artistic elegant eclectic style that is welcoming and warm. It offered everything we needed even just the two bathrooms (and one shower) was not an issue. Everything worked well and was very straightforward, no confusing issues. The house feels well maintained and fresh while still feeling quirky and quaint. It is not a modern house by any stretch so some of the doors don’t close firmly and the kitchen is clean and tidy and very well stocked but not remodeled which was just fine with us. Our favorite thing was to spend time in the house enjoying the view and being with family. Honestly, it felt like an honor to stay there. One thing that took getting used to was a funny smell that from time to time comes off of the cove, a sulfur smell from the organic matter in the bay. It came and went while we were there but was not a big deal."
