    Love this place!

Loved this place! It was nice and quiet, so I slept pretty good. The bath tub was amazing..I really enjoyed a nice relaxing soak. And lastly the breakfast was one of the best we h@d on our whole trip. We will definitely be back to this charming little place by the river. Cute as a button, clean and pet friendly. We enjoyed the free kisses from all the dogs visiting..made us miss ours. (wish we could bring ours from the states for a little English get away 😉).

    4/5 Good

A pleasant stay at The Trout Inn

The inn is nice enough and the staff very helpful and friendly. The room overall was comfortable but a little tired - especially the bathroom which wasn’t particularly clean either (dirt, dust, cobwebs). The restaurant was lovely and the food was good enough to eat there both evenings. The breakfast was especially good. There isn’t much to do in the local area unless you are driving. Disappointingly Buscot House and Kelmscott House were both closed for the season (our fault - we hadn’t checked) so we did scrabble around a bit for something to do. Coming from London we wanted to avoid Oxford itself and be in the countryside so we ended up at the Uffington White Horse and then on to Burford. An enjoyable weekend but not sure The Trout nor the area itself was enough to tempt me back.

Although the room was a nice size and coffee machine and homemade biscuits were a nice touch the service let it down I asked for milk which they forgot to bring I was looked out in the morning and could not get down to breakfast so I was left hammering in the door for 10 minutes. The breakfast took forever and I even waited 15 minutes for a coffee and I was the only one in the breakfast room. The menu is very expensive in the bar and limited. Shame as the room was nice but it did need a clean as there was cobwebs all down the radiators and in lamp shades.

    5/5 Excellent

I loved the food, the atmosphere, the cozy feeling, amd the staff was amazing. It's everything you could hope for in a small English Village, cottage type pub setting that you could hope for. Room was clean, comfortable bed. Can't say enough about the food, and the staff. The grounds are beautiful as well qith it being om the River Thames. Highly recommend
