Its close to the airport, but not to restaurants. I just needed a quick overnight & they had a shuttle, so i didnt need to rent a car. Very friendly & kind staff.

We are so pleased to see you enjoyed your time and our close proximity to Hector Intl. Airport and complimentary airport shuttle worked well for you! We do have a few restaurants a few blocks away from our location like Buffalo Wild Wings, Applebee's, and a few local options a couple blocks further down the road our property is located on but depending on the weather, there are fewer options within walking distance which is partially why we stock so many meal solution options in our on-site convenience store, the Candlewood Cupboard. We appreciate your feedback and hope to see you again, soon!

Was told there was transportation to and from airport and when we checked lady counter told us that we didn’t have that in our room description. Transportation was the main reason we chose that hotel.

Hello David. We apologize for any confusion you faced during your time with us. Shuttles to and from the airport are complimentary with any reservation; however, we only have so many parking spaces available for guests to leave their vehicles for an extended period of time and they were all pre-reserved at the time of your check in. These additional parking packages are available online using the Park, Stay and Go packages but last minute additions to your regular reservation for extended parking can be turned away depending on how many people have pre-reserved the extended parking and paid in advance for them. I hope this information clears up any confusion. If you were denied a shuttle without leaving a vehicle, that is our mistake and I will gladly pay for any costs you incurred purchasing your own taxi or uber to the airport. All our websites should state parking is complimentary during a guest's stay, but that there are additional costs for extended parking. We only allow up to 10 of these packages at a time since we only have 92 parking spaces for a hotel of 90 rooms. I hope you understand this policy. Please feel free to reach out to me directly if we need to reimburse you for shuttles to and from the airport without parking your vehicle in our lot long term.

Original room had a terrible foul odor. Asked front desk to swap us room and she immediatly did so. In fact, gave us two rooms instead of one as we had three total guest. Fantastic gal at the front desk. I was bit surprise by the condition of the hotel in areas for being as realtively new as it is. All good, but some wear and tear really starting to show.

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention so we could fix the issue before our next guest arrived. We're hitting our 20 year anniversary for the hotel this year, and with being open for 2 decades, we have noticed wear and tear coming up. We are actively working with our maintenance engineer to address these problems and have many upgrades in the works for carpets, lighting fixtures, furniture, tech items, etc. in 2024 that we are very excited about. We hope we will be able to host you again during your next trip to Fargo to prove your experience with your initial room is out of the ordinary and to see the coming upgrades scheduled. I'll start with the bed - it was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on. Pillows were great too. Barhroom was very small because of how small it was you had to shut the door to curl your hair or the cord kept getting stuck under the door. The coffee pot wasn't washed from previous stay. I grabbed a mug from the cupboard and used it, but when I went to pour in the next mug it was so dirty I almost threw up. Like old hot chocolate powder all over it. Wish I would have grabbed that one 1st! And when sitting on the bed you could see how dirty and dusty the floor was in front of the kitchen vanity area. The staff was extremely friendly, but could do nothing for me because I booked through Expedia. This is the second time this has happened. I will really have to.consider booking through the hotel themselves from now on.

Lisa at the front desk was amazing. We arrived after attending a funeral followed by a four hour drive. She recognized right away that my husband has a disability and changed our room to accommodate our needs. She also gave us a bereavement discount. She was friendly, yet professional and very attentive to our situation. What an asset she is to your company!

Needs an ice machine. The ones in the refrigerator only makes a couple pieces in an hr. Not enough to do anything with. Also the shower doesn’t have very much water pressure.

Unfortunately, ice machines are not a possibility at our property due to the lack of space and plumbing lines required to install them; however, our ice machines in freezers should be kicking out more than a few pieces every hour. We have researched the room you stayed in and our maintenance engineer will be addressing the ice maker issue and water pressure for future guests. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention so we can resolve it. We also have bags of ice we keep on hand complimentary for our guests in case of these types of issues and to get you started until the ice maker kicks in consistently which does take an hour or so. These are available upon request with our front desk team. We do hope this less than perfect situation doesn't kinder you from staying with us on future trips to Fargo as we would love to host you again.

Friendly staff. Clean and i liked all the extra options they had to play board games, watch a movie ect. Also like the little cupboard shop. For snacks and stuff. We weren't there for a football game but those that were very convenient. Tailgating right outside before game and game within walking distance.

The property was convenient and just ok. Check in was quite a process as they are very short staffed. I was first told I could check in early then when I tried to check in they didn’t have the room I booked available and asked me several time to come back in 30 minutes…after an hour and a half and attempts at rooms offered that would not fit our family needs we were finally able to check in. I did get short with the staff and apologized for that as I know they were not fully staffed. I probably would not stay at this property again

Hello Rachel. Thank you for taking some time to write to us about your recent stay. We were very excited to host you and your family during your trip to Fargo. When you arrived around 12pm, we were happy to house your vehicle prior to your check in time and stated we should have an early check in available around 2-2:30pm. We told you we had a similar room with two double beds available immediately if you would like to switch your room type from one with two queens. We offered this as a courtesy to try and get you into your room hours before our actual check in time at 3pm. You declined which is completely fine, but did not allow us to complete your check in early at that time. Upon coming back to the hotel around 2pm, you were told that they were cleaning the room you were to be going into but were not done with the cleaning. About a half hour later, you came back and the room was not inspected yet so our General Manager went up to the room to do a final inspection and called the front desk to let them know your room was ready for an early check in. We understand your frustrations with having to come back multiple times to see if your room was ready; however, we were still able to get you in before our 3pm check in time and were doing the best we could to accommodate you. We appreciate you apologizing to our front desk agent who was only doing what he could with the rooms we had available for your attitude; however, we are very disheartened seeing a less than great review considering we did everything we could to accommodate you with offering free parking before your check in time and rushing to get a room done as soon as possible for an early check in.

No Comforter for Sofabed
When we checked in the hotel we found there was no comforter or blanket for the sofabed. When I spoke to the manager the next morning I was told that this property did not supply comforters for the sofabeds in their suites. In thirty years of travel I have never stayed in a hotel that didn't have proper bedding for a sofabed. When I called IHG they informed me that every Candlewood suites has their own policy for this. This is like going to a restaurant and finding they only have one plate for a table. There were lots of excuses why there were no comforters but it's a hotel, maybe you should keep a few extra?? I found this so utterly hard to believe that I didn't know if I should laugh or cry. So remember if you're staying at a Candlewood Suites you might have a chilly sleep. I won't be staying at this chain again.

My room smelled like a greasy spoon restaurant that allowed smoking. Every time we needed something at the front desk we had to wait. A sign was up saying the clerk would be back soon.

Hello Amanda. Thank you for taking some time to reach out to us about your recent stay. We apologize for the less than perfect stay you experienced. We do hope you brought your concerns to our front desk so we could move your room and take care of the odors in your original room. We always want to ensure our guests are comfortable in their rooms, especially when staying multiple days. Our front desk teams members are fantastic; however, we only typically have one person scheduled at the desk per shift with additional managers helping during business hours so if a guest needs help in their room, our employee wants to take a short break, heat up food, use the restroom, etc. we have a sign that we will put up stating that we have stepped away from the desk but also walking our guests through utilizing the walkie-talkie function on the phone so our representatives know someone is waiting on them. They will in turn, pause what they are doing or try to complete their current task quickly and get back to the desk to assist. We do understand that this can be a bit frustrating if you are stopping by the desk multiple times. We also have a function on our in-room phones to dial zero and reach the front desk team who bring our cordless phone with anytime we're leaving the lobby so you have quick access to one of our agents for any questions or concerns you may have. We do hope the rest of your travels went well and hope to be able to host you again in the future.

Fargo Blues Fest 2023
This hotel was perfect. It was close to the blues fest. The employees were fantastic and even picked us up at the airport after midnight. The room was spacious with plenty of towels, etc for our stay. It is clise to airport and the university but everything else is a cab ride.

We are so pleased to see our wonderful team was able to help with your shuttle and our location on NDSU campus near Hector Airport worked well for your needs here in Fargo. We are up on the North end of Fargo so depending on your travel needs, ubers and taxis can be a bit daunting; however, with easy access to main roads, interstate and close proximity to restaurants, we hope this didn't cause too much of a hassle for you. We hope to see you again next time you're traveling through our way!
