We areived super early in the morning due to us getting caught up in winter weather conditions. I was so excited to see the rooms keys waiting for us in an envelope. They were prepared for a 2am arrival. We really needed this stop to rest before continuing on our journey back to the mid west. The room did the job we needed and we were able to pack up in the morning and head back out. No breakfast but they did have juice and coffee.

The rooms are clean and staff is nice and helpful. The area doesn’t have a lot of dining options, but you can get by.

The property needs a renovation for a long time, nothing to eat available not even water, we never had housekeeping in my four-day stay, many things damaged and out of service on the property

Sink was leaking onto the counter when water was running, chair cover in the room was covered in dog hair even though they have a “no pet” policy. Also heard a dog barking in a room, so a little confused about the “no pet” policy and who it applies to. TV wasn’t easy to operate, had to go through 5 or 6 steps before getting to the tv guide every time. It did have a nice break room type area to heat up food or sit and eat. Parking lot and sidewalks don’t get salted or scraped so almost fell a few times.

Just a nice, quiet place to sleep for the night. Exactly what we needed. I just got to the end of your survey and had to double back to this comment section. Your last question is offensive to me - a white, middle-aged, heterosexual. Why is every other special interest group listed - except people like me. Do you consider your review to be particularly helpful for any of the following communities? Solo woman travelers, Travelers with disabilities, LGBTQ travelers, Black travelers, Asian travelers, Latino travelers I have always completed these property reviews with others in mind - ALL others, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation or anything else. I have tried to give helpful, pertinent, and accurate information. It appears that you too have gone woke - and it won't be long before this loyal customer finds a different hotel loyalty program. Shameful.

I’ve stayed at the Riverside (which is not at all a riverside property) several times, and each time I’ve had a somewhat annoying stay. During this two-night stay, the night time temps in Fairplay were in the low double digit to high single digit. The room they gave me had a standard wall mounted hotel heater/AC unit that was loud way beyond white noise, and I had to turn it on max to get the room reasonably warm. However, it was so loud that each night I had to turn it off to get some sleep. Only when I turned off the heating unit did I discover that the mini ‘fridge had been competing with the heater for sound space. I turned off the ‘fridge as well. The result was two cold nights and warm yogurt and grapefruit juice. Top it all off with no coffee at 0645 both mornings. I’m done with the no river-Riverside Hotel.

We were informed that you never came and expressed anything to the hotel to fix the problems. For the most part, the rooms have wall-mounted a/c heaters that are standard in all rooms. As far as the grapefruit juice and yogurt, the hotel does not serve either but we do have 24 24-hour coffee bars and a coffee in the rooms. We hope that this clears all issues. If you have any other concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly so that we can work to address your concerns and regain your trust as a valued guest.

Just a 1 night stay
The room was ok. The sink was dirty but everything else seemed to be clean and the beds were cozy. We stayed just for 1 night driving through. We hoped for breakfast in the morning and the only thing there was, was bagels and coffee. There was a bucket catching drips from the ceiling(we thought) in the breakfast area that had very gross water or whatever it was in it. All the trashes outside were very full.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. They had hot water and a nice tea selection in the lobby. The only negative was the breakfast. For the price of the room, there should have been more. There was only a cellophane wrapped bagel and some oatmeal packets. No fruit or yogurt or anything else. Very skimpy.

I travel to the area frequently and this was my first time staying at this location. It was very convenient because it is located right at the edge of town and very close to where I was working. The biggest issue during my stay was noise... every night! You can hear every sound in the building. Other guests were loud and seemed to ignore the posted quiet hours and would be disruptive well past midnight. Doors slam shut and the floor and walls will shake. Pets are allowed and dogs would bark in the middle of the night. Sound echoes and there doesn't seem to be any noise baffling between the rooms... you can hear every conversation, even someone snoring in the next room!

The staff members we met were very nice. However I would never stay here again as the walls seem paper thin. The person next door coughed all night long and we could hear everything in the next room. There are not many options in this area of Colorado, but I would select to drive further than to stay in FairPlay.

The room was clean. The kid that checked me in did not know his job that well. I asked if the hotel honored AARP and he didn’t know what I was referring to. He then said even if they did it couldn’t be used as my hotel bill was already paid…which was untrue. He did not offer to get the manager and confirm about AARP. Our stay was 2 nights and we did receive clean towels the next morning but our beds were not remade. Didn’t expect change of bedding but thought they would straighten up the bedding. Not impressed with that hotel. The hotel ran out of some of the items for the complimentary breakfast…specifically the milk. Heard a lot of complaints.

We were informed that when the booking was done through a third party, the rate could not be changed. As for the breakfast and the change of bedding, because of brand standards the hotel stopped serving breakfast, and for the same reason, housekeeping is only to service the rooms every three days and make the bed, with no change to the sheets on the first day.
