Almost everything was perfect. Very clean and well fitted out and staff were excellent.
Just the shower head is positioned very high on the wall so it is difficult to have a shower without water splashing everywhere! I am used to not having to hold the shower hose myself.... adjustable height showers are preferable, this is a minor detail however.
Antoni on the front desk is fab! He helped with our every need, despite our tendency to worry. Laundry service is good, well connected try the local plaza food is good. Hotel decor not to my taste (it was very sleek) but was modern and clean. If you are thinking of staying here to save money by staying out of the centre DO IT! An experience if repeat. Breakfast is simple but satisfying.
This hotel will not win any awards but for the price the family room is a pragmatic cost effective solution and of an acceptable standard. The hotel is walking distance (15mins) from Plaka and the bottom of the Acropolis hill so great for the tourist areas. We used it as a transition hotel from a flight to a ferry the following day and also added an extra day to visit Athens. The hotel also helped arrange collection to and from the airport and the port by taxi which made life very easy when travelling as a family. If you are planning a longer stay in Athens then you may want to upgrade to another property. Just to note much of Athens seems to suffer from lots of graffiti and due to the economic problems can appear run down, the area around this hotel is no exception, but we felt safe and the more you walk around you will see this is in many areas.
At first, what made this place to such a special one was the staff but later we saw the private room and it made everything even better. Beautiful, big and clean. It wasn't just a room, it was a whole house.
Really easy to get to the hostel by bus.
We had another hotel booked for Athens but after one night decided to leave because it was so bad. We then went to the Dryades Hotel and it was fantastic, really nice and helpful staff, a clean and pleasant room and really accessible to the city centre.
The Dryades is a quality hotel in Athens that is centrally located in a quiet area yet close to the Athens city center …More
Students and artists reside in this bohemian area filled with low-key bars, old-fashioned cafes and down-to-earth tavernas. A hotchpotch of neoclassical buildings and modern concrete apartment blocks line its grid of busy roads and leafy pedestrian side streets. The University lies close by, and the National Archaeological Museum is a 10-minute walk away.
