Amazing place! Quiet and away from the main city in the country side, full of history with an amazing sommelier - Francisco! And Cristina at the front desk was very knowledgeable and helpful! A hidden gem:)
One of the best hotel we stayed at! Amazing, professional and helpful staff, from the reception to the bar, the room service and the breakfast: they made us feel like VIP. The room and the hotel itself were simply gorgeous. It’s definitely on our bucket list to come back there!
The convent is a destination in itself. Amazing history and religious art.
Our rooms were spacious, clean and well appointed.
We would recommend this property.
Really lovely hotel. You will enjoy your stay. I might not eat at Olive... better choices in town. Easy to get a cab. Try to stay at least two nights. I think a perfect honeymoon location.
The property is set off by itself in a former convent a short drive from town. It is a top notch oasis and spa with excellent dining and amenities. Staff was wonderful.
The room we stayed in was well appointed and the staff that showed us the room was very friendly and helpful. The dinner was over priced and average, and in some parts poor, quality - 24euros for 8 small pieces of very poor quality tapas was very disappointing (and that is being generous). The hotel property and rooms are nice - the food is priced consistent with its 5 star hotel status but the quality is no better than a mid ranking hotel. Had hoped for much better - very disappointed and underwhelmed
Beautifully kept property, comfortable rooms and the most amazing dinner at Divinus. Breakfast spread excellent. Staff were friendly and attentive. Great pools, both outdoor and indoor. Best to stay the short 8 minute drive from city center, in this peaceful location
Very nice, historic property. Nice pool and plenty of seating for all guests. Bedroom was very comfortable and staff was very helpful when needed. Pool bar/restaurant menu is very limited and very expensive for what it is.
Cool, historic and beautiful setting. Nice rooms, very fancy. Really enjoyed the pool and walking the grounds. The included breakfast was incredible -- truly 5-star.
Word to the wise....The on-site restaurants are often booked up (which was a bit strange because there did not seem to be that many people around) so you have to make reservations even for the more casual ones.
Loved everything and especially the yummy chairs!! We both read and meditate, your chairs really are comfortable. The restaurant was exceptional. The pork was the best that we had on our entire trip of all of Portugal, both mainland and Madeira, too.
Highly recommend this hotel. It captures the beauty of the Monastery and history of the building without the oppressiveness and moldy darkness of other historical buildings that have been made into hotels such as POUSADA CASTELO ESTREMOZ which had uncomfortable beds and was dreary. The rooms are new, clean and the beds are comfortable. The Resturants are over priced. Good food can be had for a fraction of the cost in Evaro. The SPA it’s not that good. No real services were available as far as massages etc. They do have a heated pool but it’s also a kids play pool. Strange art in the room we had! Recommend this hotel.

One of a kind experience - hotel is part of a convent dating back to the 12th century. It includes a beautiful chapel and other original areas that are now being use as part of the hotel. Gardens are really beautiful. This hotel is the perfect destination for a family affair.
It’s a stunning property converted from an old monastery, the history and the architecture are amazing, the chapel inside the building was magnificent. Breakfast and dinner were both excellent
