The White Hart is a lovely hotel and pub set in the charming village of Coggeshell. We stayed bed and breakfast for 2 nights. The manageress, Nicky, and her staff were welcoming, pleasant and friendly. Our room was clean, inviting and quiet; the bed was especially comfortable, and we slept well both nights. We really enjoyed our breakfasts, there was lots of choice for both the continental style and the cooked breakfasts, the food was of good quality and plentiful. We can heartily recommend staying there.

Good, clean acoomodation and the pub downstairs seemed nice. Didn't spend much time in the room as we were at a weddong, but thr breakfast was the best I've had in a longggg time!!!

Overall had a comfortable night stay in a clean and nicely presented room. Room 6 shower didn’t work as it should - water was a streaming dribble and felt very aged, though bathroom was very nicely presented itself. It did amaze me that the hotel already knew about the shower and it was still not repaired for my stay.

Friendly staff, thats where it ends
Inviting staff, nice menu for the restaurant and good service. No hot water what so ever so a cold shower was had. Staff were made aware but didnt seem to care. Breakfast was mediocre at best and not value for money at £12 per person. I am a frequent business visitor to the area and will not use again. Car park also too small and awkward.

Things that go scratch in the night
Not as good as the advertising leads you to believe. Could do with an update, rooms feel tired, staff were sullen. Things that go scratch all night long in the room and bathroom kept me awake. Sounded like mice running around. No one on reception to tell the next morning. Breakfasts small.

This lovely inn was very authentic, loved the original features on show especially the beams. It was very clean, staff were friendly and had good dining options. The room was a little bit on the smaller side, especially the bathroom. It could have also done with some small upgrades to the decor and room facilities.

It was a very old building so had faults. Perhaps a net curtain required on the window of the room as I could see out and perhaps pedestrians could have seen in. I pulled the heavy curtains so all was ok. A lovely night overall.

A very very disappointing stay!
Sadly this hotel is in need of a complete overhaul. From the sticky handrails leading up to the rooms onwards. Bathroom was appalling ... cracked sink, shower that had to be hand held & scalded when held over head. Loo seat hit your back when sat on & seat completely askew. Kettle could only be used behind the tv due to shortness of lead. Stains & marks over walls. Chipped & damaged furniture throughout.Bed lumpy & uncomfortable, pillows like bricks. Lighting appalling, no charging facilities anywhere in hotel & my phone subsequently lost charge & I was unable to take photos at my Son's wedding that I was attending. Outside noise from kitchen extractor unbearable .... avoid room 4 at all costs!! The price of this disgraceful shoddy room was £90. Breakfast which we avoided was £12 each on top of the room charge & as the restaurant had leaked rain water the previous evening we felt disinclined to sit in soggy surrounds for £24 extra. Staff pleasant enough but ill informed of the runnings of the hotel. As I came down the staircase I saw a staff member eating remnants of a customers meal on a small shelf in the hallway ..... not acceptable behaviour for a hotel nor was the sitting on the bottom stairs of same staircase by a staff member on their mobile device which I clearly viewed from the bar area. Food acceptable, however many items not available on the menu & as I said previously the ceiling started leaking behind our table. Greene King be ashamed!!!!

The bathroom was shabby. The plug didnt fit the basin. The shower was just like a hose and the extractor fan schreeched when the light went on which meant using the bathroom in the dark in the night.

Amazing stay
We arrived a bit late in the evening 7.00pm due to tradfic and check in was fast and simple. On entering the room it was a really nice typical old school pub vibe with beams and high windows, really nice and relaxing. We went straight down to get some food and despite being really short staffed and a quiz going on in the main restaurant the two ladies were more than helpful, slightly longer wait then you would expect but they were as I said short staffed. However the wait was well worth it as the food was amazing. Really nice pub, super freindly staff especially the two ladies work that night. We missed breakfast as the beds were super comfy and we slept in 😆. If your thinking about satying I would recomend or if you fancy going somewhere for something to eat and your local then I would really recommend.

Hotel needs repainting badly to make it marketable no hot water in my room and the ceiling was absolutely covered in spider webs it's a real shame I stayed in this hotel five years ago and it was a lovely stay. I would not stay here again I'm sorry to say

Nice inn, a bit tired but comfortable & clean with character. The guy on the front desk was super helpful. Enabled us to check in early as we were going to a wedding. Then looked after our bag after we checked out when we went to collect the car.
