Great for golfers

Pros: The staff, the spa and the bathrooms
Cons: Sound-proofing
Every member of staff we met, without exception, was utterly charming and went the extra mile for us. The swimming pool, steam room and sauna facilities were excellent. The restaurant and bar were very good. The only let-down was that the walls between rooms and corridors were paper-thin and conversations could be heard clearly, together with hair-dryers, footsteps, etc.

Disappointing

Location: I understand there is a good pub in Nayland but without a car getting around is tricky.
I spend a lot of time in hotels for work and was hoping for something special. What it has going for it is the setting which is beautiful however guests have limited access because it is a golf course. Only walk is on the road between the hotel and the lodges. I discovered the spa cafe which offered good food at reasonable prices. Service is variable with some outstanding. If you aren't expecting anything special and want to play golf or spend the day in the spa then I can see that it would be pleasing but my experience was disappointing.

Room was quite expensive compared to other local spa hotels and the room was quite basic but clean. The facilities and setting was lovely.

Beautiful grounds for golfers. Too bad there is no area for just walking. Staff efficient but not friendly. Room is large, but dated. Bed has hard edges to the mattress. View of the parking lot instead of the grounds. Friendly staff in the spa area.

Excellent staff, shame about the coffee.

Pros: Staff, Food.
Cons: Coffee, midges and flies on terrace.
Location: Out in the sticks.
Good quality of rooms and cleanliness, bathroom needed attention, wobbly loo; slippery bath/shower (no safety mat provided), no ventilation, had to open door to escape condensation. Staff were ALL prepared to go the extra mile, such pleasant and friendly people, made our stay a great experience, thank you. Downsides were the midges and flies, but hey it is summer and they have a pond/lake, and the distance from the main road, I believe many of our party had 'tours' of the area. Heyho, it was a lovely time of year for a drive! Food was superb, though you might want to change your brand of coffee, this was tried at various times of the day and evening and was not nice, often too long brewed and bitter. All in all would heartily recommend to a friend.

Pros: One or two of the staff were helpful, but most less so.
Cons: Customer service, decor, booking descriptions.
Location: Golf
View of muddy bank rather than promised golf view (room 115), over officious at the spa, dated decor. Overall not somewhere be recommended.

1)Poor quality service - x2 evening events, paid for a deluxe room which was situated next to function room. Staff did nothing about my complaints. 2) Staff openly complaining about guest requests at reception 3) Promised a call / email from a manager in regards to my stay; still waiting. 4) Added breakfast to my room, however this was never updated on system. Had to explain the situation to breakfast staff on 3 consecutive days. 5) Staff can't seem to use a card machine properly
