Lovely period hotel with lots of character. Very comfortable. Staff very friendly an attentive. Were very helpful and considerate to our elderly dog. Nice to find dog friendly accommodation. Good breakfast. Recommend.
The owners, Jane & Robert, and their son, could not have been more welcoming. A good breakfast and pleasant room. You do however have to love pets as they have dogs and cats that are friendly enough but do come in to where you eat, although to be fair when they knew it affected my breathing they ...
The hotel is right in the middle of the city and the rooms and staff are good, but there is a need for refurbishment. The breakfasts and rooms are good value. parking is difficult.
When we arrived there was no reservation for us. We had to go elsewhere and pay more, so will be claiming the difference back rom Expedia. To submit this review I have had to rate things I know nothing about.
When we arrived we joined the queue to check in, another staff member appeared with an iPad to check us in and hand us a room key card efficiently. She told us we were in the new building. If you're a dog owner then you'll know full well how restrictive it can be when it comes to taking a holiday. While holidays abroad are off the list, unless you want to go through the stress and cost of putting your four-legged friend into kennels, opting to take a break in Essex means that you can take your pet with you. There is a growing number of pet-friendly hotels in the county, ranging from B&Bs to elegant country hotels. However, it's not just about getting the whole family together for a staycation; pet-friendly hotels also offer a lifeline to those for whom their dogs are more than just a pet, such as seeing or hearing guide dogs.
Halstead is a picturesque market town just seven miles north of Braintree. It can trace its roots back to Roman times and there are a number of remnants from its rich history, such as the 16th century Townsford Mill, which spans the River Colne as it runs through the town. Halstead also happens to be home to the aptly-named The Dog Inn - a luxurious, pet-friendly B&B. The rooms are comfortable and simply decorating, providing a perfect base from which you and your furry friend can explore what the town has to offer.
Ensuring your pet gets enough exercise - even when you're on holiday - is an important consideration when it comes to choosing a hotel. Old Wills Farm B&B is a beautiful, pet-friendly hotel set in acres of arable farmland. Dogs are welcomed by prior arrangement, and there's plenty of nearby space to ensure they get substantial walkies. In addition to the farmland itself, Old Wills Farm is close to some superb, wide open spaces, such as the rolling Langley Green.
However, if you want to add a touch of unashamed luxury to your stay, there are some excellent luxury, pet-friendly hotels in Essex. The Crown House Hotel, in Saffron Walden, is a boutique hotel, with 18 individually designed rooms and set in beautifully landscaped gardens. The Crown House is also a licensed wedding venue, allowing couples and wedding guests to ensure that their pets don't have to miss out on the celebrations.
Putting your dog into kennels can add stress and cost to your time away from home. Book into a pet-friendly hotel and you can make certain that your dog continues to receive the love and attention he deserves.
