Booked to stay here over Christmas for a week, cottage itself was lovely, clean, had everything we needed......except it was so cold. The heating only came on periodically for a short time and we were asked (by a sign on the boiler itself) not to adjust the boiler settings. I had to go out and buy ...
Stayed here because it was close to Layer Marney Tower wedding venue. Very comfortable and accommodating. Close to the A120 for convenient access to the A1. Room was comfortable and breakfast was good.
Great value for money. Food was beautiful
All good clean and tidy, breakfast not that great.
Very impressed with Brunton House. Spacious, clean and homely room with all breakfast facilities/food supplied within room, inc breakfast table. Handy parking and situated near to seafront and pubs/restaurant area of town. Will certainly return when next in area on business.

We have stayed a few times around the Stansted area and I have to say this is the best value accommodation I have ever had , we opted for a suite and the room was large , facilities good , bathroom a little on the small side but not really a problem , the manager was very friendly and helpful. We ...
I have to be honest when we first saw the outside of the property first thought was what have we done. As ethically the first thing you notice is it’s on top of a job centre shop and cafe with a small archway with steps leading to the accommodation. Then when you go up what a surprise the room was ...
If you're a dog owner then you'll know full well how restrictive it can be when it comes to taking a holiday. While holidays abroad are off the list, unless you want to go through the stress and cost of putting your four-legged friend into kennels, opting to take a break in Essex means that you can take your pet with you. There is a growing number of pet-friendly hotels in the county, ranging from B&Bs to elegant country hotels. However, it's not just about getting the whole family together for a staycation; pet-friendly hotels also offer a lifeline to those for whom their dogs are more than just a pet, such as seeing or hearing guide dogs.
Halstead is a picturesque market town just seven miles north of Braintree. It can trace its roots back to Roman times and there are a number of remnants from its rich history, such as the 16th century Townsford Mill, which spans the River Colne as it runs through the town. Halstead also happens to be home to the aptly-named The Dog Inn - a luxurious, pet-friendly B&B. The rooms are comfortable and simply decorating, providing a perfect base from which you and your furry friend can explore what the town has to offer.
Ensuring your pet gets enough exercise - even when you're on holiday - is an important consideration when it comes to choosing a hotel. Old Wills Farm B&B is a beautiful, pet-friendly hotel set in acres of arable farmland. Dogs are welcomed by prior arrangement, and there's plenty of nearby space to ensure they get substantial walkies. In addition to the farmland itself, Old Wills Farm is close to some superb, wide open spaces, such as the rolling Langley Green.
However, if you want to add a touch of unashamed luxury to your stay, there are some excellent luxury, pet-friendly hotels in Essex. The Crown House Hotel, in Saffron Walden, is a boutique hotel, with 18 individually designed rooms and set in beautifully landscaped gardens. The Crown House is also a licensed wedding venue, allowing couples and wedding guests to ensure that their pets don't have to miss out on the celebrations.
Putting your dog into kennels can add stress and cost to your time away from home. Book into a pet-friendly hotel and you can make certain that your dog continues to receive the love and attention he deserves.
