Unfortunately I didn't get a room in the main house that I booked with you instead we ended up in a stable block away from the main house parking restricted. The staff were most unhelpful all they seemed interested in was making sure you paid in advance as soon as we arrived. The afternoon tea was average minimum portion for everything. Even the tea facility in the room was two small milks two teabags only one chocolate and one biscuit each. I was reminded of a cheap seaside boarding house of years ago. Definitely not a luxury experience that the hotel boasts of. Will not be going again. Much more luxurious places for the same money.

Thought the area and hotel was brilliant, was slightly disappointed with the superior room, thought it would be better standard. Expected a better room instead of the attic space that we got ,apart from that great location and peaceful.

The building & grounds are both very attractive. My room was modern, spacious, light & the bed was very comfortable. I also had nice views of the gardens. The carpet & furniture in the room needed a little repair although understandable with general wear & tear. The food in Sartoria was very good & the food in the Garden Brasserie was excellent. Service was very good across the hotel with all staff being professional, friendly & helpful. I will definitely stay again. Many thanks!

I have stayed at Orsett before and returned because its covenant for business but more importantly its nice. The staff are brilliant and very polite so i would book again as long as the price was right because it can fluxgate and can double in costs

Stay got better
Wasn't a good start as found we had an adjoining room which are generally noisier plus there was an event going on with loud music which we could hear from our room. Our room was also behind the lift and it was very noisy as you could hear the lift machinery. The second night was better as the hotel was generally quieter but didn't sleep well the first night. Took advantage of the (paid) spa services which was very nice and well maintained. Staff (particularly in the spa) were friendly and competent.

Great place to stay for my family and guests as part of my wedding event taking place at the venue. The only issue we came across was that the elevator in the building we stayed was broken down so we had to carry all our luggage up the stairs. Not a big deal but would have been amazing if the lift was working. Nothing else but positives for this place.

Very Good Stay at Orsett Hall
The stay was overhaul fine but there is a charge to use the Spa Pool Area!! The Staff was friendly and we had a joke or two

The only thing which stopped me giving an excellent rating was on the first night there were problems in the Satoria cafe. Firstly the draught beer pub stopped working all together then the staff announced they were closing half an hour early as they needed to get prepared for the next day. A very strange business decision when the place was full of guests.

Shame about the relative early closing time of the pool facilities considering most in week are likely commutors so won't be finishing work and arriving until later in the evening, plus the addition of a £10/hour usage charge isn't really justified for the standard and is not typcial of other hotels: you pay your rate, and you get use of the facilities. Similarly the gym isn't up to the standard and in line with the size/ scale of the rest of the property. Other than that the staff were great and its a lovely, spacious and quiet hotel.

Nice but…….
Business stay. Really comfortable but breakfast was a complete shambles. The two waitresses didn’t have a clue what to do. It’s also really annoying to have to pay an extra £50 per night, albeit temporarily.

Property was nice I paid for early check in. Later at night the power in my room went out and would not turn back on. I called the front desk and they sent someone to see what the issue was but they told me tech does not come in till the next day when I was going to check out and that they had no other rooms to switch me to. I was not able to shower or charge my phone all night and morning and the best they could do was refund me 20 pounds for early check in. Will not be staying here again and definitely wouldn’t recommend

The building and all its surroundings were amazing, The staff in the garden restaurant were polite and respectful. Only real fault was the entrance and exits from the grounds. We arrived in the evening, finding the entrance was a bit daunting and leaving there were no clear signs in which direction to exit.

It was great . Thank you . It was confusing when the main restaurant was open as it was not according to their hours stated on the door . We unfortunately missed out on both dinner and breakfast at the main restaurant, as the opening hours were now given to us / nowhere to be found/ incorrect on the restaurant doors . Otherwise excellent stay !

Room was not cleaned properly. Hairs and rose petals left from previous occupants. Spa was disappointing. Steam room closed. Massage was great.

I used to live locally and had dined at Orsett Hall in the past. This was the first time I had stayed and liked the room I had as it was spacious with good views of the grounds. The only disappointment was having a bath towel not a bath sheet. The bath towel being of poor quality.
