This spot is perfect! Less than 5 min walk from gelsenkirchen Hbf train station and you have a little food complex right next to it

The price was the only positive suggestion I can give. Definitively not the number of stars it claims to possess. No ammenities in the room and at the reception. Breakfast was average with a lack of certain common provisions one expects in general (like sausages, fruits etc.). Arriving late at night the reception was not able to provide some toothpaste.

Some in the Ibis chain are better than others. This one is very good. It is very convenient to the Hbf. The room was spotless and has a very modern flair to it with clean lines. I especially loved the walk-in shower. It isn't advertised but you can get free Wi-Fi for 24 hours. Just go online in setting your connection and choose the free option. You must register but you can leave all the items blank.

- No parking;
- Our 1st allocated room had an unbearable smell and the only option was a noise room (which we tool because we couldn't stand the smell) - no help with moving room or showing the new room we asked for;
- single bad blankets for a a double bed (need to use the extra one, forcing each of us to use a different single bad blanket);
- staff helpful but could barely speak english (although we appreciate the effort);
- checkout at 12 is a good thinf :)

Ideal location and staff spoke English although i could not check in until 2pm they looked after my bags until then whilst i went out and wondered around the local area. only problem was the room service 1st hotel i have stayed in when i have had to go and collect from reception.

I was charged €299 for one night in a smelly smokers room, which did not include breakfast!!! I complained at the reception and was not impressed with the response, the web site (hotels.com) was blamed for the excessively high cost; can this be true? I have stayed in this hotel on several occasions but will not be returning again.
Awesome budget hotel. Friendly staff who speak very good English. perfect location near the train station. Only downside is no car park and no cheap rates on a local car park
It was everything it should have been, nothing fancy but clean, comfortable, convenient and the staff were very friendly. Particular mention to Markus, the receptionist who sorted out my friends double booking very well. Good basic standards, friendly staff. and a nice (for us) ten minute walk into town.
Unfriendly personal and dirty carpets in the room. They asked for 9 EUR internet connection but has been so slow that I couldn´t work. Surrondings are hporrible, breakfst very bad. Look for another hotel.
Gute Zentrale Lage. Zimmer wurde trotz Aushängeschild an der Tür,nicht gereinigt. TV war vorhanden aber nur mit ständigen Störungen zu schauen. Straßenlärm war sehr laut,trotz geschlossenem Fenster.

Empfang war nicht besonders freundlich, das Zimmer (schon mit "plus" Ausstattung) sehr klein und irgendwie nicht gemütlich. Die Umgebung rund um Bahnhof ist unsicher - man fühlt sich nicht wohl. Nichts für die Familien.

Bei dem Hotel sind Schwierigkeiten mit dem parken und es ist viel zu teuer. 16 € pro Tag ist wirklich sehr hoch.
Aber gegen den Unterkunft ist nichts einzuwenden.
