Very nice hotel in a busy area
Our room was clean and larger then expected, as we had only booked for a basic room. Our room didn't have a view but it was very quiet, slept well every night. Bathroom didn't have a separate shower cubical, the bath was very difficult to get in and out off, I do not think an elderly or someone with mobility problems would be able to do it.Hotel was very impressive on first impression, I truly did say Wow, when I entered the hotel, only when you sit in the lobby, do you see that some things need to be replaced., several of the chairs had frayed and torn material, not what you'd expect to see in a 5* hotel. The reception staff were very helpful. We paid extra for breakfast and actually wished we hadn't, whilst the breakfast area is beautiful. I was expecting a better selection of food, The staff were not very attentive, every morning I had to ask a member of staff for coffee. One morning they ran out of baked beans and took 20 mins to bring out a fresh lot. There are plenty of restaurants/bars and cafes around the hotel that offer better, freshly cooked breakfasts, at a fraction of the price. In hindsight I would have preferred to experience the restaurant by paying for afternoon tea instead of breakfast. The tourist buses stop outside the hotel.
