Ideal boutique experience - relaxing and friendly
The ideal boutique hotel stay - characterful, clean, comfortable, with a genuine, warm welcome. A cosy place, with nice common areas to relax in (and with books on the area), good rooms and nice linens, and a really good breakfast spread. Delightful, considerable and unobtrusive staff. Great location, with parking.

Fabulous place to stay before sailing or as base
We loved this hotel, which is in wonderful old building but has been beautifully & tastefully modernised. Very close to the seafront and lots of restaurants. Very helpful, friendly staff. Great breakfast.

This is an unusual hotel, small, personal and caring. It’s located ideally just a minutes walk from the waterside and a couple of minutes from many excellent restaurants. The owners are charming and the hotel wonderfully cooled with the option of taking breakfast in a little courtyard if you can take the heat! Breakfast is minimal but enough really.

The building was lovely, great atmosphere and very clean. The staff were welcoming and always happy to help. Over all I would recommend The Captains House as a relaxing place to stay in Preveza however there were a couple of little negatives, the shower water was warm not hot, we did not mind as the weather was warm if we visited at a cooler time of year I would be disappointed and the breakfast was underwhelming.

Room a little tired.
Booked one night for my husbands birthday so we didn’t have to worry about driving. Receptionist took us to our room and left the key for us then left with no other information about breakfast or the front door key. There were 2 other people covering reception during the afternoon and evening, nobody spoke a word to us and barely looked up from the computer. Hospitality needs some work 2/10 from us. I upgraded to the Junior Suite but it was nothing special. The photo has a sofa area showing but there wasn’t one. The only mirror was nowhere near a plug point and couldn’t be moved as it was fixed. The dressing table and chair where the plugs were had no mirror just a TV so it was inconvenient to get ready for the evening. The rug was frayed and had seen better days. No tea or coffee facilities provided. The shower cubicle had a wooden window on the outer wall which was obviously getting wet every day so was rotten. The shower head holder was 7ft high and was fixed so I had to hold it while I showered. The cubicle leaked all over the bathroom floor as there was only a glass door to try and stop the water coming out. A few changes and the room could be improved to a better standard. The bed was comfortable and the linen crisp and clean. The rest of the hotel and the location were lovely.

Lovely hotel - close to the quay
Lovely clean room - only small remarks in that: 1. Our double was just pushing the twin beds together - no double bedding or means to keep beds together. 2. Bathroom door would not shut properly Lovely reception and ante room to relax in. Breakfast was continental, but had plenty of variety, was delicious & certainly filled us up. No Breakfast tea bags though (not sure if ran out) - but this is the continental way, so take some of your own to be sure you have the cuppa you like. Would certainly use this hotel again - Lovely!

Perfect!!!!
We arrived for one night and liked it so much we stayed another night. Breakfast was great the hotel we loved everything about it.Very comfortable bed. I would say it is the most welcoming hotel we have been too from decor to the most wonderful manager Kristaliq. We were greeted with a warm friendly smile and from the moment you walk in the door you feel relaxed in this beautiful old house. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

A Gem
It was an absolute delight to stay at this gorgeous little hotel which was originally the home of Captain George Potamianos. In 1973 it was repurchased by his family and who restored it as a hotel. It has a very interesting history. In the reception area there is an enlarged photo showing the visit of Princess Marie Bonaparte in 1912 after the town was liberated from the Turks in 1912. There are many pictures of the Captain's sailing ships and an attractive lounge/library. It is beautifully furnished using antiques of the period, tasteful modern soft furnishings and very comfortable beds. It is absolutely spotless. Our stay was split into two - six nights - followed by a week away - and then one night. We were very touched to find a handwritten card saying 'Welcome home' on our return. The staff looked after us very well, and organised taxis for our visit to the archaeological site and museum. Unfortunately it was too late in the year [end September/early October] for us to participate in the locally organised trips to places of interest. We hope to go again and take advantage of these. There are many tavernas and bars - a wide choice of eating places. The hotel has two bicycles which guests may use.

Preveza & The Captains House were a pleasant surprise after a weeks sailing on the Ionian Sea. Some of the towns seemed a little chaotic & touristy but Preveza had a real local feel and like The Captains house was beautifully presented. Staff were extremely helpful & friendly.

Best ever boutique hotel
Wow wow and more wow. From the first step on entering this hotel into the reception then across their courtyard through the lounge to our room and even when we entered our room all we kept saying was wow! Minute attention to detail throughout the hotel. The most comfortable of beds and bed linen. Slippers and bath robe in the room. An oasis of taste and tranquility. Even if this hotel was in the middle of no where I would say go there the hotel alone is worth the visit. As it happens it is very well place being just off the main promenade of Preveza. It was a shame we were only there for 1 night and had to leave early the next day to catch ferries. This is so much more than a bed and breakfast Hotel. Catarina the receptionist insisted on carrying our bags on arrival which was bigger than she was. And then when hearing of our travel plans helped with routes and bookings and even insisted on having the breakfast laid up early so we could eat before leaving. Read no further go book it you will love it there

I had a great experience at the Captain House hotel at Preveza (Greece). It is a very nice, quiet, clean and friendly hotel right in the middle of the tourist area of Preveza. The rooms are well equipped, quiet, clean and comfort. The hotel team and stuff is friendly and helpful. It is a warm family hotel. The hotel is very clean, quiet and well equipped. The breakfast is nice and tasty although the items quantity and verity might be improved. Overall it was a great experience and I would love to return and stay there more. Recommended!

We stayed at the Captain's House for two nights while receiving a handover for a yacht at Cleopatra Marina. It had the comforts and style of a top grade UK guest house and a personal touch not found usually in Greek Tourist hotels. Recommended and we would use again at this venue if the need arose.

Close to the water, the restaurants and tavernas, prominades, chiche shops and cobbled streets. Clean, modern but plush, very friendly helpful staff and great value. We will be back in March and will not research any further accommodation options. This is a great place to stay.

Captain's House in Preveza - excellent
This hotel is lovely. It's in a very good location but more impressive is it's cleanliness, ambience and courteous staff. The room was superb - very clean with everything you could need. The bathroom was well fitted out and, unlike many greek hotels, the shower was enclosed and so the bathroom floor remained dry! The beds were also extremely comfortable.Breakfast was served either in the dining room or in a covered courtyard outside. The choice of food was very good with lovely breads, fruit and also cereals. We also had an omelette that was freshly cooked and promptly served. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it.
