The building needs a renovation. Obviously overdue. The bathrooms we had had been renewed. Once repairs have been done- very old carpet removed etc. this hotel will get a knew lease of life. The swimming pool is a real bonus.

This is great location. for outside of Lille if you have a car. Free parking and 10 minutes to the Lille Centre. It is a bit dated but very clean and the staff are wonderful

Mixed feelings. Muddy car park. Rundown exterior with peeling paint. Reception and bar recently maintained. Threadbare carpet with holes in the room and peeling paint on doors. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds, terrible sofa bed. Disappointing for the price. Would not recommend for more than one night.

Don't Judge a Book by its Cover
Beautiful hotel! Used it as a quick overnight stay en-route to Germany. From the photos, the hotel looked like an average/boring Holiday Inn but the inside was such a pleasant surprise! Rooms were immaculate, cool and well furnished - water was most welcome. The outdoor pool was a blessing on such a hot day and cocktails by the pool in the evening was so civilised after the mayhem that was the Eurotunnel. Staff were very friendly and were happy to help us try out our French. Would definitely use again if in the area

Overall property and room was very clean Air conditioning was spotty. Continually had to ask them to reset something at the front desk. Drain in shower was blocked. I normally wouldn’t say anything but I had to Rémi de them 3 times

Still clean and very convenient but tired looking!
Have used HI Englos a lot in the past and it is still clean and convenient, with easy access to the motorway. The hotel is getting a bit tired looking now and needs a refurb. When we arrived the wifi was very slow - apparently there was a fault, which was fixed by 9.30pm on the night we stayed.

Very relaxing stay after a very long drive , accommodated my room requirements, the staff were helpful and friendly, room was quiet and comfortable , good easy parking for a larger vehicle will definitely stay again

Look older
The hotel looks older, and the cleaning is not the best. You have to pay attention when you book with dinner included, in this period the restaurant is closed during the weekend, so you have to eat cold food. Internet connection is slow. The only good thing is the big yard.

The hotel is easy to access with large grounds and plenty of parking however ever over the hot Easter weekend the a/c was not on in the bedrooms (apparently the system was still on heating?) Staff did provide a fan when we asked why the a/c wasn’t working but we had a couple of uncomfortably sticky nights

Nice hotel
Amazing location and the 24hr reception really helps. Breakfast is also good. Great for families and others. Space in the room to move for 2 children and also 2 adults.

Poor value for money.
The room was out dated, in poor decorating condition, cold and the bathroom still with the previous resident hairs and dried soap on tiles. Kindly the staff upgraded the room so they moved us in a newer and clean room. Still quite cold. Corridor of the hotel with stained carpet and distinct smell of sewage. i was surprised by the presence of a mature lady wearing very short shorts and looking professionally busy with a client. But I think that the level of cleanliness and decor of hotel in France is generally quite bad. In my opinion and experience: I will avoid it in the future.

Perfect Hotel to get to Calais ferry terminal
Perfect hotel for an easy trip to Calais ferry terminal. Hotel is old but the facilities, room and hotel were clean and staff were very helpful. Breakfast was lovely and kids ate for free. Family room meant sleeping on a sofa bed which was not as comfortable as the main bed. There is also a good shopping centre near by. Would happily recommend staying in hotel.

Overnight stay close to Lille.
It is excellent for travellers. We took a late night crossing (Folkestone ->Calais), so arrived around 1am, but all went well. Comfy beds, excellent blinds and delicious and aboundand breakfast.

Situated right by good access routes. Handy for Lille and Belgium. Quiet outside of town. Clean, comfortable and friendly. Clean warm outside pool. Good mini gym that’s quiet. Nice breakfast - just missing a toaster!

A nice base for Lille and area
Doesn't look much from the outside but it's much better on the inside. Rooms are big and comfortable and there is a nice pool and garden for children to let off steam if traveling. The breakfast is good but the evening menu is a bit limited and bland which is a shame as there's not much alternative nearby. The reception staff were very friendly and it was very clean. Good value.

Very disappointed this time
I have stayed here maybe a dozen or so times in the past and it's always been very good. The service is still very good, the food in the restaurant is ok if a bit overpriced but the rooms have always been good. This time we were given a room right at the very end of the hotel on the ground floor. We booked and paid for a twin but they gave us a family room which meant that one of got the sofa bed. Apparently there were no other twins available as they were full. The room badly needs modernising and the bathroom facilities were pretty grim. There was even an unpleasant smell just to round things off. If you stay here you really want one of the modernised rooms which are 10/10 instead of 3/10.
