Nice Hotel

Posted 12-Mar-2017
Pros: I like the location and it has always been quiet and clean.
Cons: There were a few minor repairs needed in the room. There was also no good place to plug in a phone next to the bed. You had to pull the mattress out.
Location: There is easy access to the freeway and you are close to shopping.
I had stayed here before and had a very good experience so had looked forward to staying again. This time the room was clean but not quite as nice. I had to move tables and the bed to find convenient places to charge my phone. The most disappointing thing was when I left I dropped the key card off at the front desk and was completely ignored. I placed it right in front of the clerk and she didn't look up or acknowledge me. So after a minute I just left. Wasn't a great way to end a stay.

Pros: Front desk staff was pleasant and professional.
Cons: Replace old mattresses. Very uncomfortable.
Location: Was in town for business only. Did not have time to tour any sites.
Bed felt like my great grandparents may have been the original owners. Housekeeping did not restock the coffee or condiments or the towels.

False Kitchenette Advertising.

Posted 07-Feb-2017 on Hotels
The definition of "Kitchenette" is "a small kitchen or part of a room equipped as a kitchen." Oak Tree markets themselves as having kitchenettes available. My contention is that without pots, pans, bowls, plates, silverware, or cups, or anything by which you could cook or consume food, you do not have a kitchenette. The only difference between their regular rooms and their kitchenettes is a large fridge and a hot plate. That is their only effort at providing a "kitchenette." Their apathetic response to complaints about being deceived solidifies my decision to avoid this hotel moving forward. With the Marriott, Best Western, America's Best, and soon to be Hilton 2 Home in town ALL with actual kitchenettes where one does not have to pack their kitchens with them to warm up a hot dog, The Oak Tree is likely going to come under new management soon. Or the owners might just have to sell. They won't make it in this market. Oh, the bed is ridiculously bowed (see pic). Have you ever tried sleeping on a grade? Ridiculous! I guess they spent their mattress budget on their large fridge.

Close to Elko Junction

Posted 06-Feb-2017
Pros: It was close to the Elko Junction shopping center.
Cons: Preparedness.
Location: Downtown Elko is only about a 10 minute drive away so you really have your pick of the town for activities.
The front desk staff was very nice. However, the initial room that we had booked was not yet cleaned at 6:00 PM, so they had to send a maid after us to give us a different room key. The housekeeping staff work at all hours of the day, so you might hear a vacuum at 3 in the morning.

I reserved a king bed and was put in a double queen. Somewhat dissatisfied but other than that they were accommodating.

Good location, good hotel for the price

Posted 17-Jan-2017
Pros: Easy check-in, nice staff.
Cons: Upgrade the room décor a bit.
Location: Great location for travelers, right off I-80. I only stayed here long enough to sleep so I'm not sure what to do nearby.
Booked everything over the phone, including deposit. When I arrived, check-in was super simple. Room quality was good for the price. Bed was very firm, which was good for me but maybe not for others. Better than a Motel 6, not as good as a Hampton. I would stay here again though.

Have stayed here a few time. It is a nice hotel. The staff is nice. The rooms are clean and comfortable. It is a little noise if you are not on the top floor.
