Brilliant

Posted 14-Nov-2016
Location: Central excellent location for bars, restaurants and sight seeing
Excellent hotel, only thing I would say is the breakfast tables are too small, other than that perfect.

Great location

Posted 07-Nov-2016
Pros: Only stayed one night, so didn't spend much time in the hotel. Hotel is a grand building, with high ceilings and wide staircases.
Cons: With it being a large old building, it was quite chilly in the bedroom, corridors and in bar. Room overlooked princes st, which was quite noisy, I didn't sleep very well, it was after all a Saturday night.
Location: Location is excellent, not far from the castle, had we not stayed in this location, we would not have come across the restaurant 'Home'.

Fantastic stay in Edinburgh - faultless hotel Cale

Posted 07-Nov-2016
Pros: Everything, the location, the comfort, the service, the breakfast.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Fantastic location. Witchery tour and Edinburgh dungeon highly recommend
I da booked 3 rooms for a family get together in Edinburgh. From start to finish hotel staff were exemplary and went out of their way to meet our requirements and make us feel welcome. The rooms were luxurious and spotless and the location at the West End of Princes Street was just perfect. There is a fantastic spa, high tea and dining areas and the breakfast was beyond our expectations.

Everything you need in an hotel

Posted 03-Nov-2016
Pros: extremely helpful, great location, great view. The breakfast buffet was enormous. sometimes we have difficulty finding things that we like, but here we all found more than we needed. the lounge area is huge, they had live music playing while we had a drink before dinner. it's a beautiful hotel that I will definetly return to one day.
Cons: nothing. everything was perfect. they were extremely helpful and we couldnt have asked for more.
Location: you are located in the new town, which is actually old. there is great shopping nearby. lots of pubs and restaurants and close enough to the old tow

Péssimo Hotel

Posted 31-Oct-2016
Extremamente desapontada.

A fantastic short break!

Posted 30-Oct-2016
Pros: Without a doubt - the staff. Friendly, helpful and efficient without ever being intrusive or over-stepping the mark.
Cons: Our bathroom was adequate in size, but could do with an extendable mirror for someone short-sighted! The sink drained only very slowly.
Location: At one end of the famous Princes Street gardens, and close to the Castle and the main shopping streets.
From arrival to departure we had a wonderful time at the hotel. All the staff were friendly and efficient and overall the service was superb. We had requested a view of Edinburgh castle and, boy, did we get it! The room was excellent, with comfortable twin beds, and a clean bathroom with good sized bath towels instead of the more usual smaller offering. The wardrobe was huge and contained a safe, but actual drawer space was limited. There was a well stocked mini-bar, although we didn't use it. My request the first afternoon for some fresh milk in the room was answered very quickly, and was remembered each day afterwards without further reminding. Thank you! Meals were excellent. Breakfast - wow, what a selection! The Brasserie - a wide menu, good food and friendly service. La Pompadour on our last evening was superb; I had telephoned the previous week to reserve a table but the message seemed not to have got through. However, a table was quickly found for us and we had a wonderful evening with an excellent meal. The sommelier particularly was extremely helpful and charm personified - we totally forgive him for increasing the anticipated bill! We cannot end without mentioning the concierge team who were so welcoming on arrival and very helpful throughout our stay - including coming to our aid when the electrics 'blew' in our room! Thank you to all - you helped to make our 'mother and daughter' break memorable. We may be back!!

Castle views. Efficient and friendly staff.

Posted 29-Oct-2016
Pros: Views,breakfast and friendly staff.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Directly on to Princes street and close to things to do.
This hotel has character and atmosphere that you do not get with modern hotels. The décor and fixtures were all in very good condition which added to the impression of opulence that the hotel gives. The staff without exception were all very helpful, polite and welcoming. We only had breakfast each morning which was excellent and well worth the extra cost. The room had panoramic views of the castle and in the morning the sun rise was stunning over the castle. Our room was a little chilly on the first night but the extra blankets in the wardrobe solved this. The heating was not an issue the next night as the room was warm.Would definitely stay again.
