Not value for money ; disappointing

Posted 22-Jul-2016
Pros: The staff employed by the owner
Location: The location is good as the bus stop to the city centre is just outside and I think this is the reason they take advantage and charge excessive
Stay for 3 days for visiting Edinburgh Room on the second floor; no lift The shower was terrible ;the flow of water when in maximum was really poor ; and you could not adjust it to tepid water ; so it was either very cold or burning hot ; I advised the proprietor and I wonder wether he'd bother to fix it The bed was crumbling with noises

So beautiful

Posted 12-Jul-2016
Pros: Everything! It was so gorgeous, and comfortable. I loved that they played music in the morning during breakfast.
Cons: Strengthen wifi connection, strengthen water pressure of shower and time it takes to heat up
Location: Good location, city center is walkable in about 30 minutes time, but there are bus stops that will take you for under 2 euro in about 15 minutes!
My friend and I did a two week trip to Europe, bouncing around several cities in a short time. Edinburgh was our last stop before we headed home. I am so happy that The Ben Doran Guest House was our final impression of a European lodging. The hotel room we stayed in was so gorgeous, and clean! The beds were very comfortable, the hotel was extremely clean, and the breakfast in the morning was good. I especially loved the classical music that they played in the mornings during breakfast. It made our stay there even more magical. There is wifi in the room, but sometimes it's a little spotty. That is to be expected, I think, in most European hotels though. The only thing that I was really not a fan of was the shower. The shower was quite difficult to use, and the water pressure was really low. It took about three minutes for the hot water to kick in, and it didn't last very long, so you had to really shower quickly! But aside from that small detail, everything else was perfect!

Petite auberge à distance raisonnable du centre

Posted 25-May-2016

Posted 14-Apr-2016 on Ebookers

Quiet location but good access to sights

Posted 10-Apr-2016
Pros: Everything. Superb breakfast, delightful room and beautifully warm.
Cons: I was completely satisfied.
Location: Approx 2 miles to Princes Street. Less to the Royal Mile. The castle and Holyrood all accessible on foot but many buses stop outside the hotel.
Though on a main road (A701) well insulated so no traffic noise. Easy walk to city centre, Holyrood, etc. Nice period property in tip top condition. Edinburgh is a wonderful city to visit and this B&B is ideal - and has limited parking space.

Well located bed and breakfast

Posted 11-Mar-2016
Pros: Good value for money and on direct bus route into city centre.
Cons: Decor was a little old fashioned. Shower could be better.
Location: The guest house was on a direct bus route into the city centre with plenty of buses available. Just a short journey lasting roughly 10-15 mins.
The room was old-fashioned but clean and reasonably comfortable. Breakfast was a buffet served between 8am and 9am, with fruit or cereal, a hot breakfast of egg, bacon, sausages and beans. The lady brings you tea or coffee.
