Decent Hotel

Posted 26-Oct-2016
Pros: Quiet and clean. Nice lounge.
Cons: Several lights were wired to one switch so couldn't just have the bedside lamp on. Fan in bathroom didn't work.
Location: Rose Street; New Town, Princes Street Gardens, Scottish National Gallery, Old Town (Castle, Royal Mile, etc). All easily within walking distance.
We stayed in a twin room on Princes street side. There were three single beds. Very clean. the beds were a little lumpy but we got around that. The location was very good. The windows shut out the street noise very well. We slept well. Breakfast seemed pricey but there were good options not far from the hotel. We liked the fact that it was an old hotel. Enjoyed having a nightcap in their attractive quiet lounge. It filled up on the weekend so it seems to be an old favorite for return travelers. I would stay there again.

Zeer centraal

Posted 24-Oct-2016
Pros: kamer, ontbijt
Ontbijt is prima.

Too noisy, small room, way over priced

Posted 10-Oct-2016
Location: We expected some noise but as in the city but the noise of groups of loud drunks did not stop until daylight, the view from our room was the next buil
Booked with Expedia for two nights will never use Expedia again they have messed our Australia to UK trip up from start to finish. Tried to cancel first night in hotel was told to contact Expedia, did that, Expedia said they would contact the hotel which they did by email, hotel would not accept this so we paid for two nights which should have been one

Amazing location

Posted 10-Oct-2016
Pros: Great location. Clean and comfy room. Baggage hold after check out.
Cons: Nothing wrong that we experienced at all. We had room 316 which was a side room but still had a lovely view.
Location: Very central near train station and short walk to Royal mile.

Very pleasant hotel situated in the center of town

Posted 07-Oct-2016
Pros: Pleasant and accommodating staff. Clean rooms and bathrooms.
Cons: There are quite a few steps leading up to reception. However, hotel staff are very willing to help with luggage.
Location: Within walking distance to all major tourist attractions (i.e. Royal Mile, Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace, National Gallery).
Super convenient hotel located right on Princes Street. Across from Waverley train station and close to shops and restaurants. A very quick 10 min walk to the Royal Mile.

charming hotel, nice breakfast, central location

Posted 07-Oct-2016
Location: Central location, across from the Scott Memorial. One block to Waverley Mall and train station. Only a few blocks to the Royal Mile to access shopping
the room was fine, except the air conditioning/fan unit was inoperable. It was slightly warm at bedtime, because I like to have at least a fan running for comfort, but once I fell asleep it was fine. I enjoyed the Breakfast Buffet-nice selections- scrambled eggs, broiled tomatoes, hash browns, baked beans, bacon, sausage, toast, croissants, yogurt and fruit. The central location on Princes Street is perfect for walking about to sightsee or shop. A Sainsbury grocery store is right around the corner to pick up wine, beer, water, or food. The room was a decent size, and very clean. Had a modern bathroom. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would definitely return to the Old Waverly again
