The staff were very welcoming, helpful and informative and the hotel is pet friendly. The food was good and fairly priced. The town has plenty to offer and there are good walks nearby.

The property was clean enough however the exterior of the building needs updating. The showers leave a lot to be desired, not powerful enough, television is too small. Staff member present was friendly and courteous.

Likes, Bed was comfortable, breakfast was good, staff were friendly. Dislikes. Property looks abandoned from the outside, twin room was tiny. The bathroom was extremely cold due to gaps behind toilet letting outside air blow through. There was a smell of damp in the dining area where breakfast was served

From the outside this property looks run down but nothing could be further from the truth once you’re inside. Apparently council tardiness is responsible for the lack of external refurb as the building is listed. The rooms are spotless and very well provisioned in every sense. The dining room serves excellent food for both breakfast and other meals and at reasonable prices. Ignore the facade and do yourself a favour!!

Very handy for Haddington. Staff were very hospitable and helpful. Obviously still in development and updating but helpful staff made up for this. We would go there again.

Over all the hotel was in a lovely village location and easy to walk to shops, restaurants and public transport. Unfortunately the cleanliness of the bathroom wasn't good. There was mould all around the shower ceiling and tiles. The property and grounds and our room looked nothing like the photos shown on website. Property is in need of some TLC so we were disappointed.

Fine for a one night stay
Hotel was a little dated but clean and comfortable. Bath was a little bit of a hazard being very deep (which was lovely!) but no hand rails so could be a chance of slipping. Breakfast was fine, no fruit on offer but was given a lovely fruit salad when I asked. Easy parking and easy to find.

It is a lovely country home/estate. Peaceful , comfortable and relaxing. I went to Edinburgh each day by bus -1 hour. Good time to unwind or plan.Flat 6 min walk to the bus is easy. I am nearly 70 and it is a doddle. The staff are relaxed and undemanding - I enjoyed my time.

Wonderful and quiet little in that served as our base for visiting Edimburgh region. Nice property where you can sit in the garden and enjoy the grounds.

We really enjoyed it. The food was lovely. We haven’t been for a few years. Thought the outside of the hotel needs a bit of diy. When we went inside we were pleasantly surprised. Good location for a trip down the coast. Would stay again.
