Nice hotel not far from the landmarks of Edinburgh

Posted 23-Apr-2017
We spent two nights at this hotel while visiting Edinburgh. The hotel was lovely and not far from the must see sights of Edinburgh. The hotel staff were really friendly and inviting, upon arrival, and throughout our stay. The facilities on offer were well presented and maintained to the highest of standards. The bed was one of the comfiest we've ever stayed in and the room had all the facilities that you would expect of a four star hotel. Great hotel! We would definitely stay here again! 😁

Nice and cosy

Posted 22-Apr-2017
Pros: Great spacious room and bathroom - very good bed - cozy and comfortable Location was good Staff was friendly
Cons: the internet connection wasn't reliable at all time the breakfast was good but could be so much better with an improved choice of food
Location: Although the hotel sits on one of the city centre's end, it is still a good starting point for any excursion in town. It faces Arthur's Seat.
I stayed 4 nights and have to say the hotel room was great - really contributed to a great stay in Edinburgh !

Comfortable Hotel

Posted 19-Apr-2017
Pros: Option of a swim in the hotel pool o ruse of spa facilities. Two busy days, we didn't use either.
Cons: Some of the basics could be improved as above.
Location: Ideal for Holyrood Palace, Royal Mile, city site seeing tours and all shopping facilities.
Overall a nice hotel. Try very hard on the customer courtesy and greeting comfortable . Nice room and very comfortable King size bed. Great shower in a lovely bathroom, although the shower screen seals could have been a little cleaner. Tea & Coffee making facilities ok, but only one complimentary pack of mini shortbread in a room for 2.Likewise in the bathroom,1 small shower gel for 2 people. We bought more from local Tesco. A bit picky perhaps, but it is four star. Thought had booked bed & breakfast, but turned out had just booked the room. Breakfast would have been £19.95 each. We ate out. Room service, there is a £5 charge added to each order too. Overall a nice hotel, but would perhaps look for cheaper next time.

Relaxing location near to tourist attractions

Posted 17-Apr-2017
Pros: Everything
Cons: Possibly instructions on how to use the lights and air conditioning systems.
Location: Near to Edinburgh castle and the Scottish Parliament.
The hotel staff were very friendly, efficient and nothing was too much trouble. Travelling on my own their level of care and attention was very much appreciated. The facilities were clean and comfortable - both the room and the leisure area. The valet was very knowledgeable on transport routes. I would return to this hotel for a longer stay.I also felt it represented good value for money.

Lovely central hotel

Posted 12-Apr-2017
Pros: Close to Waverley Station, quiet location, hills and park opposite, attentive staff (especially concierge), complimentary Moët on eve, fruit in room
Cons: No outside seating. Toiletries and coffee not sufficiently replenished during the room service - shouldn't have had to ask.
Location: Dynamic Earth is directly opposite, ten minute walk to Waverley, Dungeon and Princes Street. Good selection of restaurants fifteen / twenty mins away.
Enjoyed two night stay in April 2017. Beautiful room with shower but no bath. Large desk and two arm chairs. Welcoming staff - invitation for complimentary champagne and canapés in the evening. Concierge spent some time finding us a suitable restaurant and booking it - very helpful. Mineral water in room and fruit bowl, although fruit not replenished. Coffee and toiletries also not sufficiently replenished during room service. Good location for tourist attractions and easy walk from Waverley Station. Hotel seemed quiet overall. Pool, steam room and sauna available.
