Easy walk from the Royal Mile.

Posted 27-Aug-2015
Pros: The room was spacious and the two shower heads were amazing.
Cons: Limited menu in the restaurant.
Location: We took a cab up to the castle for the Tattoo and then walked down the Royal mile. It is a steep climb made easier by the cab up hill.
We took a cab up to the castle and then walked down the royal mile for shopping. The staff were extremely friendly and pre-booked cabs for us to the castle and the airport. Our room had a nice selection of tea and coffees.

Ideal for the Edinburgh Festival

Posted 24-Aug-2015
Pros: Cosy but elegant. Very comfortable feel to it and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.
Cons: Can't think of anything
Location: Located at the bottom of the Royal Mile, just next to the new parliament building.
Very comfortable room, in fact the whole hotel had a nice feel to it. Cocktail Bar great to come back to after a day out at the Edinburgh Festival. Quiet and away from the busy part of town although within easy walking distance of the Royal Mile. Breakfast, although not included in the price was very good and served by very pleasant staff.

Great hotel!

Posted 23-Aug-2015
Pros: The location is at the base of Arthur's Seat. We were able to enjoy the hike as the trailhead was only 5 minutes from the hotel.
We were in Edinburgh for two nights during the fringe. Bit pricey, but well maintained and nice location at the foot of Arthur's Seat. The only negative for us was the transportation. We had to pay for a taxi to get to and from the airport.

Excellent hotel close to some tourist attractions

Posted 23-Aug-2015
Pros: Its location. Quality and staff.
Cons: A small point, but the cooked breakfasts came on such hot plates that it almost seemed as if the food had been overcooked.
Location: The location was next to the Scottish Parliament building, Hollyrood Palace and the Dynamic Earth building.
Having booked online in some ways we expected the hotel to be of a good standard but our expectations were greatly exceeded. From the welcome by the concierge on the first morning to the check out 4 days later, the attitude of the staff and their willingness to making our stay as pleasant as possible were faultless. A truly memorable stay for all the right reasons.

Running down

Posted 19-Aug-2015
Pro: located at the edge/right outside of the traditional "old town". Convenient distance to all major sight seeing places, and yet quiet. Room size is decent. Bathroom is ok. Con: very much a running down place. The sofa and carpet look like more than 30 years old with all sorts of stains. Sofas are in desperate need of replacement, the seat cusion are in pieces under cover. The bed mattress is so old that you can physically see each of the springs! And of course, feel each of them when sleeping on it. We had two twin bed pulled into a superking size. My side is tilted due to one side of the springs sinking more than the other side. And our TV is badly tilted due to poor fixation on the wall. Overall not impressed.

Hotel very close to parliament and the palace

Posted 19-Aug-2015
Pros: Extremely quiet within the room.
Location: Within a block of parliament and the palace. Very close to the crag and arthur's seat. Walkable to the castle, new town, or the university.
Very nice quiet comfortable hotel within a mile walk of most things to see and do in Edinburgh. I had a spacious room with a seating area. The bathroom was also quite spacious.

Nice hotel within walking distance

Posted 17-Aug-2015
Pros: The good condition of the hotel
Cons: The wifi could be improved
Location: The hotel was 15 minute walk from Princes Street, 20 minutes from the castle and 10 minutes from the Royal Mile
The hotel was clean and comfortable but the free wifi was poor and there was a terrible smell outside the hotel.
