Nice older style hotel in a quiet location

Posted 22-Nov-2016
The hotel is set in two rows of traditional terraces houses either side of Grosvenor Street. The fitout of the hotel is a little dated but in good condition. My room was quiet and comfortable with good heating. It took about 20 minutes to walk to the top end of Princes Street. Would certainly stay again.

Birthday Treat with Friends

Posted 27-Oct-2016
Location: Great location next to Haymarket Train station for transport in & out town. Pubs, restaurants nearby. Princes Street in walking distance.
I booked two rooms for me and 3 friends to stay up town for my birthday night out. The rooms were very clean, spacious and modern, with a TV, great power shower and coffee/tea facilities. Staff were friendly and kind, also offering me a complimentary drink at the bar for it being my birthday. All round awesome trip and night out with friends!

Great price for the location

Posted 19-Oct-2016
This hotel is in a good, safe location, a 15 minute from train station and major attractions. The room was small but I was traveling alone and out for most of the day anyway so I found it to be perfect for my needs. It was very clean, well appointed and the bed was very comfortable.

Comfortable stay, friendly staff, convenient area

Posted 06-Oct-2016
Pros: Staff friendly and helpful. Was offered early check-in since the room was ready. Charming renovated older building and comfortable room.
Cons: Single room could have been a bit bigger, but it was still fairly comfortable.
Location: Next to Haymarket, with transportation and restaurants aplenty. Long walk to Edinburgh castle, short walk to Dean Village.

Very close to Haymarket station.

Posted 02-Oct-2016
Pros: The location was topmost for me. I liked the Georgian style of it--I like older buildings.
Cons: Better selection of movies for in room viewing perhaps.
Location: Near Haymarket station so easy to access Edinurgh city, but I chose it for access to train station and to the bus for the airport.
The room was well equipped, but small, which suited me perfectly. It meant I had a nice room without spending too much money for it. An easy walk to Haymarket station where I caught tram to airport. Great stopping off point for travelling.

Pros: Convenience to major attractions. Breakfast included. Staff very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping attentive to requests.
Looking for a location close to our daughter. No need for a car.

Nice to have multi lingual staff but...

Posted 11-Sep-2016
Nice to have multi lingual staff but better if they paid attention without drifting off listening to their colleagues conversations. Stop pushing Hilton Essentisls! Cheap mattress. Cramped bathroom. Tired decoration. Receptionist couldn't get me a taxi for 20 minutes...I got one first call. Wouldn't stay again.
