We stayed at The Grand because it is close to the Congress Theatre, where we were going to a show. The hotel is excellent in all respects and is very difficult to fault. It is expensive, though, but you do get what you pay for. We did not use the facilities such as the spa or outdoor and indoor swimming pools. We only ate dinner once there, in the Garden Restaurant. It was excellent. Breakfast was one of the best that I have had in a UK hotel. It was popular with families, but the Springboks team were staying there, which may have accounted for that. There is dancing on Friday and Saturday, mainly strict tempo.
Stayed just one night. Vincent at reception was excellent. I was unable to book the room on the Best Western website so booked via Expedia and could only book a twin-bedded room although I really wanted a double room. When I explained this to Vincent, he added my Best Western membership to the booking. He also changed our booking to a sea-view, double room at no extra charge and allowed us to pre-book our breakfast for just £5 each as breakfast was not included as part of the original booking. The only fault was that I had no Wi-Fi reception in our room.
We were in Eastbourne for a wedding over the weekend and the View Hotel was just right for us. The location on the sea front is just what you want for a trip to the British seaside, but also is an easy walk to the centre of town and the train station. The hotel has obviously been recently refurbished and modernised, and looks very good for it, since the outside of the building looks a bit dated. The breakfast buffet is also good, with a nice view of the seafront - the hours were extended too as we were there over a busy weekend. Staff were helpful with directions and similar. Would recommend for a weekend away.

Well positioned hotel which caters for coach parties, so its full and busy. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel fell down twice for me as its electrics were not good. The first room I was given had no light in the bathroom and in the second, the kettle failed. The staff were all Eastern European and pleasant, but did not really put themselves out very much which was unusual. Not very well run from the top is my opinion.

OK for a one night stay. limited parking if you arrive at lunch time as we did. Room small but reasonably comfortable. Wifi worked fine. Nice looking lawn and pool deck. Bar area disappointing. Looks like target market is coach torus and retired folk.
