Very Friendly Hotel

Posted 04-Jan-2017
Pros: The Breakfast & its Car Park
Cons: Nothing I can think of
Location: The hotel is a short walk to the seafront & the same to the town centre
We stayed here over the 2016 Xmas Period, & enjoyed our stay at this Hotel very much, Judith & Greg make you fell very welcome & they provide a very good quality breakfast. The location of the Hotel is spot on with easy access to the town centre. Having a car park at the back of the hotel was a real bonus.

We had an over night stay and wished it had been a longer one. Judy the owner was a delight and very helpful bright and cheery. Our room was large and comfortable. Her husband cooks a fantastic omelette. The parking was excellent and plenty of room. I would happily stay again.

Excellent place to stay.

Judy was most friendly and helpful in giving us advice and information on things we wanted to know. The room was clean lovely and charming. A comfortable king bed, bathtub and shower with robes and slippers were supplied. There was a complimentary basket of fruit, cup cakes and biscuits as well as fridge with 2 drinks of juice replaced daily and luxury bath products. A selection of choices for a yummy breakfast cooked and made to order. Secure off street parking provided. We felt spoiled & pampered during our stay.

Mooi oud gebouw. Vriendelijk personeel.

Pros: Erg mooie kamer. We hadden om een mooi uitzicht gevraagd, dit hadden we gekregen. Medewerker dacht na over een uitje.
Cons: Had voor 4 sterren een bad verwacht. Verder was het goed.
Location: We wilden wandelen over the seven sisters. Hotel was vlak bij.

Thank you. You need to request a bath if this is preferred, remember until we meet you we know nothing about you!

Not 4.5 star

Posted 27-Oct-2016
Pros: Good location and parking. Near Eastbourne pier and central. 5 mins from town centre.
Cons: Cold, few facilities, no luxury feel - it was meant to be a 4 star.
Location: Good location and parking

All rooms come with central heating available to you, you just need to turn your radiator valve to suit (as shown in the room information pack). Please don't confuse us with a 4* hotel, we are a family guest house, completely different star rating system!

Pros: Close to the center of town and the beach, in a quiet location.
Cons: It would have been better to have a TV in the communal lounge, but it was nice and peaceful without it !

We are know for being peaceful, and as we have a TV in every room so no need to have one in the lounge as well - you have the beautiful sea, beachy head to look at and of course all the events taking place in and around Eastbourne!

COZY BUT SIMPLE

Posted 25-Oct-2016 on Hotels
Cozy B&B close to beach, pier and main street with many restaurants. Great breakfast and nice people. But quite low standards in the room. Bad wifi.

Our budget double is as advertised, a small room that has all the same amenities as the other rooms.

Good location and very clean with a very good breakfast. Only the shower is a little let down(room10), not to good modern standard. The building is not too suitable for old or/and not too fit people, high step to the main door, the lift in the building seen out of use for good. Free parking is good but entrance is not for a big car.

I do not advertise a lift. We have 11 steps to the front door, clearly noted in our description.

Comfortable Hotel in good location

Posted 30-Sep-2016 on Hotels
Overall, I would rate this hotel as very good. We had a very enjoyable stay. The room itself was very spacious, light and airy, (paid a little extra for a superior room, still very reasonable price). A couple of niggles included the blinds knocking against the window when we had the window open in the night, (we do not like a hot bedroom). The bed was advertised as a King size, but was in fact two beds pushed together with a ridge down the middle which was uncomfortable if you veered towards the middle. The only other down side was the size of the bathroom. It was very compact and bijou. The shower cubicle was very small, and sitting on the loo, the toilet paper on the holder practically rested on your lap. You could also not flush the toilet without putting the lid down each time as the flush was behind the lid. It did not return either and had to be manually returned to the normal position. The bathroom was however very clean. The room was nicely decorated, and the staff were all very friendly, including the staff serving breakfast. Breakfast too was good with a good choice offered. The location was good too, not far from the seafront, and in a nice quiet street. No problem sleeping with the windows open. Having said all of the above, I would definitely stay here again, but would perhaps ask for a room with a larger bathroom if available.

Thank you for your comments. If a large bathroom is important to you you only need to ask when you book! In a house of this age, you simply can't knock walls down to make bathrooms bigger and I wouldn't want to compromise the space in the room. Our beds are superking and zip and link as is common in hotels.
