3 night stay visiting family

Posted 10-Nov-2015
Pros: Great location at very competitive price.
Cons: Very disappointed that the bar closed very early (8pm) or did not open at all. Towels were only changed every two days.
Location: Location could not be better
This could be a very good hotel with a few minor adjustments. 1/ Breakfast only served between 8am and 9am (9.30 at weekends) 2/ Check out by 10.30am 3/ Open the bar

Pros: Friendly helpful staff, good breakfast
We booked here for the first time. The hotel is large, the rooms nice and the staff are very helpful, friendly and give an excellent service. Fantastic location overlooking the beach. The breakfast is really nice, generous and the staff are super efficient. Would definitely book again and recommend.

Pictures on website give a false impression of quality, receptionist obviously foreign and not fully understanding the English language. The hotel's position on the seafront is excellent with easy access to all facilities.

Claustrophobic

Posted 06-Jul-2015
Pros: Seafront location is good, hotel was reasonably clean and my interaction with reception and restaurant staff was stress-free
Cons: My chief gripe about the room size is perhaps something that cannot be altered. Breakfast was an efficient process but the dining area was too hot.
Location: Walk on the seafront promenade, nearby hotels with night club and party facilities ; short walk to the town centre and train station ; many eateries
Booked a single room and was housed in the smallest hotel room ever, probably slightly larger than a train compartment. The shower and toilet were also minute. As it was a hot night, use of the balcony would have been welcomed but the balcony and 2 chairs there on were dirty and dusty. Ah well, perhaps another day .....

Lovely stay in a sea front.

We had a lovely time at the Oban, not too expensive, very handy for the tennis, very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was nicely cooked and the hotel was very quiet. There's a very nice pub called the Bucaneer and a selection of restaurants just round the back. Reception gave us a parking permit for £1 which gave us two nights parking right outside. Bargain. Will definitely return next year.
