Traditional Well located hotel

Posted 23-Aug-2015
Hotel staff helpful friendly and efficient. Low budget room booked at last moment which met expectations. Room 11, is small but perfect for over night stop or visitors without 2 suit cases! The high point; clean & the bed very comfortable. low point; Lack of ventilation-2nd window was sealed. fan that didn't work. Upgrading is recommendable! Would we go back? Yes!

Old Town Charme

Nice location at the heart of the old town. Hotel is somewhat outdated in some parts but has personal touch and freindly staff. A bit pricey.

Perefect location

Posted 17-Mar-2015
Pros: Location
Ideally situated just a minute's walk from the High Street but with it's own car park the Rye Lodge provides an excellent option for a visit to this small town. The rooms vary in size and facilities but there is a warm family atmosphere about the place.

Very comfortable hotel in a good location at Rye

Posted 14-Feb-2015
Pros: The room was large, comfortable and well appointed. The breakfast was very good. We enjoyed the Venetian Spa and sauna. The hotel was very friendly.
Cons: The water in the pool and spa bath was rather cold.
Location: Rye is an interesting historical town with lots to see.It has many good cafes and restaurants. We enjoyed a good meal in The Gandhi Tandoori.
We had a very enjoyable 2 day break in this hotel. Rye is a lovely town and this hotel is an excellent place to stay..

Exceptionally average

Posted 18-Jan-2015 on Hotels
Nothing truly terrible about this place, but it is just exceptionlly average. The one definitely poor element is that the 'gym' consists of a broken treadmill and bike in the back of the spa pool, which even if the machines did work you would be in a really hot humid small alcove staring at a wall The room itself was small - the door actually didn't open fully as the corner of the bes was in the way! The bathroom was also small and the shower enclosure tight, and the heating was a bit overpowering. The man on reception was really helpful though, and the location is excellent - would really recommend the Thai restaurant just round the corner (there is no restaurant in the hotel) Overall just very average, and because of that it is overpriced - althought not actually poor, the place does not offer good value for money

Nice hotel but a bit tired

Posted 09-Jan-2015
The staff were lovely and couldn't do more for you; the hotel is really pretty and you can see it used to be quite grand but it is a bit tired and needs some TLC (the cold tap didn't work on the sink and the windows need replacing) however it's in a fantastic location and has free parking - it's cheaper than other options so don't rule it out

Beautiful hotel in perfect location

Posted 10-Oct-2014
The hotel is in a very central location to Rye with the train station a 5 minute walk away. The rooms are clean and well kept with a charming character. Was a little disappointed that our room didn't have a bath and was replaced with a cramped shower. A little pricey for what you get.
