"A lovely experience"
We enjoyed our stay here during our short break in Brighton. The guest house is well modernised in its look and we'll looked after. The staff here were so friendly and very willing to help. The room although small (which we knew beforehand) was well presented and we enjoyed the little touches such as the marshmallows for hot chocolate, the bottled water etc. Our only two criticisms of our stay were: 1. the room got too hot. 2. the view from our window - a concrete jungle look along with pigeons and their previously digested meals. Going back to the positives, breakfast was a real highlight for us. There is a great choice of cooked dishes from the traditional English, to pancakes and bacon, to a chefs special, to porridge. The quality of the food was fantastic with the guest house boasting that they use local ingredients which showed. There was a lovely young waitress who was only too happy to look after us during breakfast bringing us teas, coffees and serving us our food. We were very pleased with our stay overall and would definitely stay again if ever back in the area.

"Excellent hotel"
I travelled on my own and stay two nights. The hotel was beautiful. The staff I couldn't fault, they were always trying to please. Not over bearing! The hotel has a Spa which is worth the extra cost to use, there is also a swimming pool steam room and sauna and a gym. The food was adorable to say the least and afternoon tea a treat! Will definitely go again. It was quiet, I'm not sure if this was because it was February but I enjoyed it.

"Lovely January stay!"
Lovely place and perfect for a romantic getaway. Staff very friendly and provide an excellent service. Room was a good size but didn't look as advertised on Expedia or on their own website! Had dinner at their restaurant and was a great experience, good food and ambience. Morning walk around the hotel and their grounds is amazing. Room we received was a long walk to get to from reception!

"Nice close to the beach and shops"
I stay at the Grand whenever I visit Brighton. I love the spaciousness, the rooms and the staff are helpful. I do hope the hotel retains its character and the guest rooms remain as spacious as they are now. after the renovations. There isn't a fridge in the room to keep my bottled water chilled.

"Short Stay"
My stay in Buxted was probably too short to make other than a superficial judgement of the hotel and its facilities.

"Large rooms, very clean and lovely staff but lacki"
Stayed only for one night, the room was large with a nice balcony overlooking the golf course. The hotel is very clean and spacious but lacks atmosphere and the food was not at the same standard as the hotel staff and cleanliness. Would stay again for business but not for leisure.

"Lovely hotel. Cannot fault it.."
Great location close to railway station and buses. Short walk to centre of town. Reception staff lovely and so helpful. Room clean and modern with a good size television and lovely bathroom. I cannot fault this hotel, the location or the staff. We did not eat there so I cannot review the food. Will definitely stay again.

"Relaxing country retreat."
Found the Flakley Hotel on the internet, and couldn't have made a better choice. Suited our needs and requirements - a perfect location for browsing the wonderful nearby villages such as Tenterden and Rye. We were given a warm and friendly reception on arrival, and found the staff attentive to all our needs. Will certainly return, and be happy to recommend the hotel to friends. Thanks for making our stay memorable.
