A pleasant stay with a couple of negatives

Posted 03-May-2016 on Hotels
Very friendly welcome and good check in, the room was a good size, comfortable beds and a nice bathroom, no dressing gowns in the bathroom! And a broken shower screen that allowed water to cascade down the side of the bath and sit on the floor(health and safety). Overall the room was good though just some tired looking furniture that could do with being thrown out . The service from the staff was good all apart from room service, the waiter delivered our order nocked over 1/2 a cup of coffee and left the room without cleaning up ,wow was my reaction I can believe that he would consider that acceptable, the room service supervisor on the phone was very apologetic but it had happened. We also used the gym and swimming pool, the pool was actually quite cold especially for the children everyone was saying the same thing in the pool, the gym was very good quite small but all the things you would want for a workout. Breakfast served in the atrium the next morning was very good in quality and choice, in all a pleasant stay with a couple of negatives but nothing that would stop me staying in the future.

Hotel OK but hardly "Superior"

Posted 02-May-2016
Pros: The staff
Cons: Rooms are tired, TV system sucks. In need of a re-fit
Location: Location excellent.
At £379 for 1 night it was hardly a superior room, sea view was as described and that was nice. Room was tired TV system was poor to say the least, Could not switch off subtitles so asked them how to do this. Response was "didn't even know we had subtitles" They offered to send someone up whilst we were out, when we returned the TV was the same but a small box of chocolates and a stick of rock had appeared along with a message "With Compliments" No explanation of the TV issue. At low rate this hotel is OK, don't think for big bucks you are getting something special, you aren't, however, the staff are very nice. I can get the Shard with a City room for £400 a night, different class!!!

All very nice, if slightly expensive. Only issue was the door key that didn't work, but quickly resolved.

Left feeling disappointed

Posted 30-Apr-2016 on Hotels
Was left disappointed. Had various issues with our stay and although the hotel refunded part of our payment we were still left feeling let down. I would also not use hotels.com as it appears the room cost almost £50 more through booking with them.

Familjehotell i Brighton

Ett bra familjehotell för shopping och sightseeing i Brighton. Poolen är varm och på morgnarna vat vi så gott som ensamma där.

Fab stay at Waterfront - definately would recommen

Posted 22-Apr-2016 on Hotels
We had a fabulous second stay. The only negative was the temperature in the room, especially in the evening and at the night. The fan unit was on full on the coolest setting but due to no air conditioning available in the room, it made little difference. Also as you couldn't open the windows, it did not help. On the second day when we requested vegetarian sausages we were told you had run out :(

Not worth the money

Great location and nice restaurant and lounge area by reception. Was there for marathon so was nice to chill out there after the race. Rooms were very tired- bathroom had mould. Plus rooms were so hot, was like sleeping in a sauna!

Great hotel

Posted 19-Apr-2016
Fab central location. Lovely spacious room. Helpful staff. Good parking facilities. Bathroom/shower could do with an update, tv reception was poor and lack of choice of channels but didnt spend too much time in the room! Aircon needs to be improved but overall a great hotel and would definitely stay there again.

Nice overnight stay

Went to Brighton for the marathon, hotel was perfectly located, central and ideal for spectating. Hotel is at the half way point of the marathon and 5 minutes walk from the finish. The hotel is nice and clean however the family room was a bit small for 3 adults and cold upon arrival. Reception staff were very nice and helpful as were the staff at breakfast. Disappointed not to get waiter service from the bar to our seats for a four star hotel.
