Location: Next to beach and Brighton pier so lots to do
Rooms are being modernised but not all complete as yet. Rooms are spacious with large comfortable bed. Bathroom is quite modern. Curtains and nets are a little dated. Hairdryer snd iron provided and nice shower gel snd shampoo. flat screen tv but slow to turn on.

Convenient hotel

Posted 29-Oct-2016
Location: Seafront hotel. Pavilion nearby. Museum closed when we wanted to go as had fire previous night! Lanes shopping area close by. Lots of places to eat.
Staff very good at reception. Car parking under hotel, so perfect. Location great. Room not ready so gave us family room. Freezing cold air blowing in so they gave us a heater. Still shivering so we asked to change. Twin room not available still as booked so got a double. Old fittings, not very clean. We managed but not brilliant. Along all corridors were trays of empty crockery, wine bottles, glasses obviously from previous evening. Went for evening meal but no one came to book us in so ate out after waiting at two entrances! Efficient check out. Hotel will be great when renovations are completed but until then, not up to price we paid.

Room very old and new staff unfriendly

Posted 27-Oct-2016
Pros: Location
Cons: Staff unhelpful, room old and sink smelt. First floor very noisy.
We have stayed in this hotel for six years once or twice a year with our children. Really disappointed with our stay this time as our room was the worse we have ever stayed in very old and the sink smelt. There was mould in the free bits of rock!! Also it was located next to the lift so was noisy at night which woke my 4 year old up. Breakfast has gone down hill and no more waffles for children. We had to ask for tea which was awful. When I checked out I meantioned the room and all I got was a shrug of the shoulders and told the rooms were being refurbished. I then said we had stayed in a better room before and which was responded with another shrug! So sad as when it was the Thistle the staff were so helpful and lovely with the children. I wouldn't stay again, such a shame as had become our family tradition.

Perfect central location

Posted 27-Oct-2016 on Hotels
There were renovation works underway - disappointing that we were not forewarned as it was noisy in rooms between 9am-5pm so there was no chance to relax when we arrived around 3.30pm. The gym is restricted to over 16's which is not clear on the website so my children (age 13 & 15) were disappointed when not able to use it. The hotel were professional and understanding when I bought these to their attention though and offered complimentary car parking which was gratefully received (£40 worth ). Fab location though, central to pier and shopping and nice breakfast area overlooking the beachfront.

Overall good,

Posted 23-Oct-2016 on Ebookers
Pros: The position to the Lanes, and having the sea view
Cons: Room too hot, inadequate cooling. (October)
Location: Great neat too most shops and eating places.
The hotel position was good, a little tired in places. We could have done with more than just 4 portions of milk a day, and only one pack of biscuits seemed mean . The breakfast was very good, good selection, and a good outlook. The general downstairs space was very open and not very inviting and was cold, but I'm sure it would be welcomed in the summer months. On the other hand I would have reservations of staying in a superior room with a sea view on a hot sunny day with the inadequate cooling in the room and have no window to open to let any heat out and fresh air in.

Super stay in Brighton

Posted 23-Oct-2016
Pros: The staff! We were made so welcome & they made everything easy! Best of all the hotel pool was really warm!
Cons: Nothing ..
Location: Location was perfect, right on the sea front, so close to the pier and on the edge of the Brighton lanes! And the underground car park - perfect!
We were unsure booking an unknown hotel, we've always gone for a 'branded hotel' in the past but this hotel just looked good, great offer so we booked. It was super! Everything was perefect! Location, staff, cleanliness & food. I would re book this hotel again for sure! The free gifts for the kids on check in were an instant hit too!

Convenient location

Posted 12-Oct-2016
Pros: Its location
Cons: Cleanliness and appearance of the entrances to the hotel.
Location: The hotel is very convenient for visitor attractions such as the pier and Brighton Pavilion, both of these are worth a visit..
This hotel was selected for proximity to wedding venue. The entrance on the sea front proved difficult to access and was uninviting as well as quite dirty looking. We walked around the block to see if we had made a mistake and the "back" entrance was slightly better although still not what we had expected. Once in reception staff were very nice and extremely helpful. Rooms are okay as are the lounge bar and dining room areas. Breakfast was fairly average but continental breakfast was fairly poor. Extra charge for scrambled egg and smoked salmon ( and other choices) was unacceptable as this would have been my preference over a cooked breakfast. I was not prepared to pay extra when I would not, through choice, have taken any of the food on offer in the cooked breakfast apart from the scrambled egg - so would therefore pay for that twice!!!!

We booked a room for £295 and after checking in noticed there was a half eaten stick of rock left in the duvet cover, loads of rubbish (empty bottles, cups, chewing gum and shells) were left on the external window ledge, the carpet was filthy, the Windows were held closed by two screws which were still sticking out (and very dangerous), the construction work was incomplete, bathroom sealant was not finished, tape and jointing was incomplete, plastering was incomplete, and painting was incomplete. When I complained to one of the members of staff she said she will look into it. Didn't take my details, didn't call a manager, just fobbed me off. This was the day after my wedding and was supposed to be one of the best weekends of my life. I would not expect such poor treatment at such high prices. I am very disappointed and will be writing a letter to the CEO to let him know how his company is been run.
