Our long week end in Brighton

Posted 02-Aug-2016 on Hotels
We had a brilliant location. You could join the lanes from the back of the Hotel. You are just across the Road from Pier, beach, quainte cafes, restaurants, music halls. Beach had plenty of deck chairs/sun beds at a small charge. Hotel was very friendly nothing was too often much. Brilliant sea view from our room. Loved this hotel.

Poor air conditioning in the room meant that the room was very uncomfortable to sleep in. We rang down to reception on the Thursday evening to ask for a sheet rather than a duvet and were told that they could not provide this without any explanation or understanding of the heat in the room. In addition the toilet flusher button was broken and we had to get that fixed while we waited in reception to see if they could fix it or if we needed to move rooms. Our room on Friday was not cleaned even through we left the room at approx. 10.45 am when the housekeeping team were in our corridor. We had no fresh towels and went down to reception to request them ahead of our showers and ask for the room to be cleaned to include new cups, glasses, bins emptied etc. We waited for over 2 hours and no towels were delivered to the room. Upon our return to the hotel at 12 am, there were towels, fresh cups but the bed was not dressed or room tidied. We did complain and received a free drink in the hotel bar but to be honest, for a Jury's inn I would expect much more customer focus and follow up with us. The only positive thing I can tell you about this hotel was the location.

Not up to scatch

Posted 27-Jul-2016 on Hotels
The hotel has deteriorated since my last visit 4 years ago. Only 2 bath towels in a family room having paid for 3, a leaking toilet so bathroom floor was always wet. No holder for toilet roll so it kept on falling into the water from the leaking toilet. No hair dryer in room etc.

Disappointing weekend break!

Posted 26-Jul-2016 on Hotels
We had a weekend break here at the end of July, and whilst there was nothing fundamentally wrong with the hotel, we left feeling disappointed due to the perceived lack of value. The room was OK, if a little sparse. The AC was noisy and could not be left on. The sea view was great, but the window was really dirty from bird muck. There are lots of gulls, but seriously, they need to clean the windows much more than they do! And if people drink the tea and coffee in the room, top up the stocks for the second night - don't be cheap!

It needs glamour to justify the cost.

Posted 26-Jul-2016 on Hotels
The room needs glamour and in specially the bathroom to justify the cost. Just dark furniture, grey carpet, off white & grey walls is boring. The reception is very nice. The staff were very friendly at the reception. The breakfast can be improved (heavy croissant pastry, burn toast, fatty bacon, poor quality tomatoes, artificial juice). Otherwise the breakfast was good. The staff friendliness at breakfast deteriorates as the time goes by. The ceiling at the breakfast room is bad & has been covered up by a grey cloth. Actually more like a health & safety hazard.

location is great

Pros: breakfast location staff
Cons: the bedrooms need to be renovated
Location: Pavillion, Lanes
the lobby of the hotel, the restaurant with the ovcean view is wonderful however, the room seems old and dark despite the cleanliness breakfast was delicious you can get the complete English Breakfast in general, I thought that it was a bit expensive for the quality of the room

Bijzonder goed gelegen. Absolute aanrader.
