"Fabulous B&B"
We had a lovely stay at Guest and the City, with a very warm and helpful welcome from David & Eric. Parking was easy with the permit system, the room was compact but had everything we needed and decorated to a high standard and to finish off the breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection. We will be going back for a second visit and wish we had been able to stay longer!

"A quiet hotel not far from the beach."
I walked to Beachy Head from the hotel and enjoyed the views while having a meal at the restaurant there. It is a long walk but very rewarding for the sea views. On another day I took a bus trip to Brighton to shop and visit the Royal Pavilion, from the top of a bus you can see much of the Downs. At the end of my stay I went to two opera performances at the Congress Theatre which is within walking distance of the hotel and safe to do so at night. I thoroughly enjoyed myself while staying here and would visit again in future.

"Well designed guest house in a good location"
The house itself is very nicely decorated and in a convenient but quiet location. The room, although not large, was well designed with an excellent wet room. The breakfast was another high point.

"In the right place"
Good hotel, multi carpark not far away, free parking from 8pm to 8am. Then you had to dash to put a ticket on. Breakfast was really good and made to order. Staff were good . Very handy for shops, food and snacks etc. Will stay again. Would also say the rates were very good and with a good breakfast.

"Central, Quiet, Extremely comfortable and friendly"
This is a rare experience where I really see little room for improvement. This place is basically a bed and breakfast. It has 6 rooms. We were in room number 6, top floor. The room feels cozy (and by no means small) and the bed is very comfortable. In the morning, you get breakfast, my advice is try the blueberry pancakes, extremely yummy. You can see the place is run with love and care. It is a couple of minutes walk away from the Brighton Pier. What I really liked was attention to detail such as: they have a space heater, you can borrow DVDs and watch them from the bed, printer and wifi on every floor and other little bits that big chains don't think about. There are a couple of disadvantages, essentially it is a typical English house with narrow stairs and 3 floors so if you do have trouble walking, just ask for a lower number room :) . Also, there is no reception which can be a disadvantage if you need something in a hurry but they are always available and a phone call away and for me I preferred the privacy. This place is so great that I can only think of a few little things to improve, such as having disposable slippers and even though the street is quiet, double glazing windows would complete the experience to absolute perfection.

"I ALMOST don't want to let you know about this gem"
Absolutely loved this hotel, what a great find! I don't think there's a bad room in the hotel - we were in room 8 and couldn't fault it. If you want fewer stairs, go for room 2, but as we live in a townhouse they don't phase us! Really wonderful touches eg light, stylish chair, furnishings. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. I'd particularly recommend the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, super tasty and great presentation. I looked up a well known hotel chain for same midweek stay next year (fully booked this summer) it was not much cheaper and didn't include breakfast! I for one would prefer to support local small businesses, especially when you're so valued as a customer and staff go above and beyond with individual, not carbon copy, rooms.
