We were allowed to check in early which free up our time to go exploring Brighton in the afternoon. However on returning we found our room slight underwhelming. The room itself was small and on a cold and blustery afternoon someone had had the foresight (sic) to leave the window open making the room very cold. There was also an unpleasant smell in the room which was perhaps why the window had been left open.
To try and warm up we eventually found a small radiator under the window and we were able to get warmer.
We went out for the evening (the location of the hotel was ideal for this) and on returning tot he hotel spent a rather restless night with a lot of noise and chatter throughout the night from the corridor outside for what appeared to be some sort of thoroughfare for the staff?
The overall standard of the hotel was not what you would expect from the Hilton brand, with lifts out of order, missing ceiling tiles in the toilets and just a general feel of needing renovation throughout. The redeeming feature of location will only take you so far when paying £150+ per night...
