Poor customer service. I was lied and fake promises for upgrade. Old chips under bed . Bathroom stunk of wee and very dirty. Basin water kept on building up.

The bedroom was extremely shabby and dated , no bed valance so unsightly bed , its not much to ask . We asked for an upgrade but i dont think it was wirth it

Good stay. Beautiful classic interior and rooms / hallways etc. Really only one problem, it states 'free wifi' however your not allowed this in your room. You must pay £7 a day for wifi in 2024... Apart from that it was a lovely stay, in a lovely place!

The staff were nice and the beds were extremely comfortable. But the room itself was far from clean. Dust absolutely everywhere. Stains on the window seals and all over the bathroom. The plug in the sink doesn't even come out so we had to leave the dirty water in there. The whole place just needs a lick of paint.

Bacon off.sausages not cooked. No tea or coffee as machines broken. Staff rude. Bar staff had told to turn down music. Room not serviced. Entertainment only on for one hour.

Last minute family break.
We decided to book a last minute trip to get out the house after Xmas. Rates were very reasonable so we took the family. We were upgraded to two single room with a view and could actually see the sea! Buffet breakfast filled the kids the next morning despite there being a power cut. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you very much!

New year eve stay
so we were lucky to arrive when reception was quiet and the receptionist was happy and quick. we had a lovely room with sea view cannot fault the room at all very clean and large. the breakfast was ok , but as xmas/new year the kitchen was not always open plus no house keeping, but i manage to get some supplies for the room. we were lucky because my sister booked after me and her room was dreadful, for a double room, plus they could not open the window or turn down the heating so was unbearable for them , plus the bathroom had not been cleaned, she had a terrible experience. Quiet out of season
We went out of season when the hotel was quite quiet. We were upgraded to a fabulous room overlooking the sea and bandstand. Breakfast was plentiful but cold. I'm sure when it is busier it would be fine. The bar was very quiet so no atmosphere. We love Eastbourne and have stayed at a lot of hotels there. The Cavendish is one of the best.

Dear Sirs, First, the staff made me pay again, no matter I've had paid already Expedia and told the girl at the reception. The she put me in a room 1.5 x 1.5,m. One hardly can call it a room, better a storage place, no matter I've insisted that the reservation was for a room with a sea view' They've lied to me that that wasn't the case, that they were fully booked and don't have such a room. Moved me to another room, a bit larger, no sea view again. At last, after a scandal it happened that they had rooms with a sea view and I've been moved again. Rude, unprofessional behaviour of the staff,; the cards didn't function properly and my forgotten beautiful silvery soap holder hasn't been found when I went back to take it. Couldn't recommend anybody. .

The property is quite old. While the rooms were clean, our balcony was in a horrible mess with cigarette butts strewn around and cobweb. It looked like the Balcony hadn't been cleaned in ages though it offered a brilliant view of the sea.

I would definitely stay here again.The lift was not working but fixed swiftly and the parking was good. For the price well worth the money, clean and the room with a view came with its own large private balcony at no extra cost! 10 out of 10

The hotel was pleasant and quite large. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was was clean and comfortable, although the window was small and needed tidying up slightly. The cost of bed and breakfast was very reasonable for the type of hotel and position in the town. I would most certainly use this hotel again if I am in the area again.

Very good location close to the sea and the town centre. A large restaurant and a bar available. Reasonable price of a buffet dinner. Friendly and accomodating staff. However, the lift was not working, so had to use staff lift. Also the room was hot but the window would not open. Lastly the bathroom door would not close. Overall good stay but need more attention to detail.

The hotel is lovely and the room size is very good. The 2 things that let it down were the 16.00 check in, I would like to have the option to check in earlier if the room is ready. Also the duvet on the bed was small for the bed. I don't think it was for a double bed. I did let reception know and asked for it to be changed, but that did not happen.

Lift was out of service, luckily they had a goods lift guests could use. The 3rd floor smelt of weed, clearly a few people smoking in their rooms. Not offered to book breakfast, no information on restaurant times etc, just basic service from the front desk.
