All you need if planning to spend most of your time out and about. Reception staff were friendly and great as were breakfast staff, albeit a little rushed off their feet! The room had a lovely view of the sea but the trade in was the noise and we had to keep open the only window that worked as it was so unbearably hot. Overall a decent deal booked through Expedia as we spent most of our time exploring Brighton and breakfast was nice.

"Lovely hotel by the sea"
Had a lovely stay and found the hotel well cared for and very clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was amazing and breakfast was so yummy. It was a really great start to a day of walking along the sea front. Would recommend this hotel and I will be back to stay again!

"Nice small hotel right on the beach in Brighton"
I booked a room for one night through Expedia, including breakfast, two weeks before my trip. I was upgraded when I checked in and got a premium room! The room was modern, clean and comfortable. It had a safe and white robes you could borrow. There was a large soaking tub and shower. Staff was very friendly. I was happy that I had purchased the breakfast buffet ahead of time which turned out to be a wise decision. The breakfast was very expensive for the quality. My friend paid three times what I did because she did not book it ahead with her room.

"Lovely luxury hotel with a view to the sea."
Overall we enjoyed our stay at The Grand. However when we tried to book the restaurant on our first night they were fully booked and we found the lady at the restaurant reception quite abrupt and she did not offer any alternative. We sat in the afternoon tea room area that night and after asking the waiter if it was possible to have a meal in there he said he would ask the manager. A lady came to see us and said we could have a meal off the room service menu, which for us solved the problem. It was a pity we had to go all round the doors just to obtain a meal (we did not want a snack). As we were staying to celebrate my 60th birthday it was a bad start. We did find that the main desk receptionist was very distracted that night when we were asking to book for a meal the next night as it appeared that there was a wedding party that needed attention and she left us standing to resolve that. We eventually booked with the lady at the restaurant desk.We found the door men really helpful. The food was delicious.Continuing from improvements we choose to pay by cash or debit card and it appeared this was second best to using a credit card. Also the fact that we are so limited in this review to the characters we can use in the 'improved' and 'things to do' box.

"Great location"
Stayed 2 days with 11yr old daughter.. location was perfect.. not too far from main attraction Brighton pier bout 10mins walk..on the beach front.. right across the road from i360.. shops, restaurants and attractions all within walking distance Hotel itself was ok.. nothing to get excited about.. I have stayed in nicer and cleaner holiday Inn.. the room was comfortable with nice bed.. but no fridge no toiletries. Room was cleaned but bed wasn't made as expected and towels weren't changed. The window handle was hanging off which I thought was very neglectful of the hotel not to fix. Read other reviews relating to condition of decor etc and they was not wrong.. but my room was ok apart from window.. Had a nice side sea view which was a nice touch in a standard room. Breakfast was bog standard..the usual fried eggs sausage bacon cereals etc.. Station was about 15-20mins away slow walking.

The only thing was that the shower was leaking from the tap ends, so we had to have baths instead. Also some of the light bulbs had burnt out. But writing that the rest of our stay was ok. The staff where very helpful.

"Best staff ever."
Lovely hotel, great food, nice rooms and the staff couldn't be any friendlier. Only drawback is the noise from outside but this is because of the sea front location.

"Cheapest bang for the buck"
Cheap nights stay before heading to London Gatwick Airport. This is a hotel for hobbits. Some passageways are very low. Place has character. Breakfast was your basic toast and cereal.
