No Hotel Reception at 10.00am or 10.00pm. Careful!

This is a modern, clean, upmarket boutique hotel similar to others in Brighton, in a lovely part of the city. The only problem was, I only stayed in it for one night, instead of the two I'd paid for. Why? Because there is nobody on reception at 10.00am or at 10.00pm. There was a note on the door asking me to ring a number, to be let into my room - but as many Australian visitors will know, our mobile phones don't always work on arrival in the UK. I had to trawl the phone boxes in Brighton, none of which worked - and then in desperation I checked into the Y,who luckily had a dorm room. Be really careful if you are arriving outside their preferred check-in time of 2pm-10pm. You could end up searching the streets for a bed, if your phone is out of charger, or just does not work locally.
