"Lovely boutique hotel"
Beautiful room (Lossie), very clean and quiet most of the time, this room has a view over Regency Square. Our only gripe was that there was work going on in the room above us which was very loud from 8am every day.

Our room was first class, tastefully decorated & spotless. Bathroom was equally good, stocked with everything you could possibly need. Our host was highly professional, friendly & helpful and served us a super breakfast the next morning.

"Well designed, comfortable room with nice touches"
We needed a hotel after a night out in Brighton - everywhere seems very expensive. We had booked elsewhere and decided last minute to pay a bit extra for comfort and booked here instead - very pleased with decision. Easy to get to - we walked from The Lanes. Check-in (if you can call it that) was very easy - given a code for the door and our key was waiting for us. We were warned about the room size ahead of our stay and had no issues with this at all. Room had nice touches like GHD straighteners, good shower, comfy bed. We filled out our breakfast preferences and our hamper was delivered promptly in the morning - this was fantastic!

"Perfect for our minimoon"
We are very glad we booked into the Drakes for our minimoon at Brighton. The decor was beautiful and the staff were friendly and helpful. Not to mention their quiet bar had a much better atmosphere for us to enjoy their delicious cocktails without booming music or distractions. It is slightly further away from Brighton train station than we anticipated, but the scenic walk to and from the attractions were pleasant. The only thing is we wish there was an elevator as we stayed on the 3rd floor. It does take its toll on you after walking 21000 steps per day! Thank you again to the lovely team at Drakes for your hospitality. We would highly recommend it to couples looking for a quiet and chic boutique hotel for a romantic mini break.

"Lovely room in a unique place"
Stayed here for one night and had one of the best night's sleep ever. Sheets, mattress toppers, pillows and duvets all wonderfully luxurious. Excellent place for a romantic break. Nice breakfast. NB there is no parking so you have to use the market car park which is a few hundred yards down the hill.

Pocket Guide: Boutique Hotels in East Sussex

A boutique hotel in East Sussex can give you all the amusements of the region with a unique touch of luxury. Particularly popular with couples on romantic breaks or business travellers looking for something a bit more individual, boutique hotels in East Sussex offer stylish décor, high quality rooms, delicious breakfast and excellent locations.

Where to Find Boutique Hotels in East Sussex

Boutique hotels in the county of East Sussex are dotted around the region. Many are located in the bustling coastal hubs of Brighton and Hastings, ideal for holidays by the sea or for those looking for a base with plenty of nearby shops, bars and restaurants as well as good transport links. These hotels are often set in exquisite town houses with central locations and - in some cases - sea views.

There are also boutique hotels situated in the East Sussex countryside with more rural, village locations. Often set within grand houses or designer inns, these hotels offer luxury accommodation in a rural locale, perfect for couples wanting a romantic retreat with long country walks, picturesque villages and idyllic gardens right on their doorstep.

Things to Do on a Romantic Break in East Sussex

The boutique hotels in East Sussex make it a wonderful spot to plan a romantic escape, and there's plenty for couples to do. A visit to the wonderfully-named Choccywoccydoodah's Bar Du Chocolat where you can enjoy chocolate treats is a must - you can even buy each other a chocolate gift to say 'I love you'.

Active couples can take a long walk hand-in-hand along some of the 1066 Country Walk trail, before relaxing with an afternoon tea in one of the area's many cafés and hotels. You could even share fish and chips on one of the county's iconic piers - what could be more romantic? Afterwards you can retreat to your boutique hotel and indulge in its luxuries.

There are several boutique hotels in East Sussex and all of them offer luxury, individuality and high quality facilities that turn an overnight stay or short break into a real treat, whether you're in the county for business or pleasure.
