"Best bed and towels!"
The bed with its luxurious bedlinen, as well as the thick fluffy towels in the bathroom were the best I have ever encountered in a B&B and rival those of many 4-star business chain hotels I have stayed at. The breakfasts were fresh and delicious, and Jolyon was the perfect host. Only niggle is the lack of hanging closet space. Highly recommended!

"Central, Quiet, Extremely comfortable and friendly"
This is a rare experience where I really see little room for improvement. This place is basically a bed and breakfast. It has 6 rooms. We were in room number 6, top floor. The room feels cozy (and by no means small) and the bed is very comfortable. In the morning, you get breakfast, my advice is try the blueberry pancakes, extremely yummy. You can see the place is run with love and care. It is a couple of minutes walk away from the Brighton Pier. What I really liked was attention to detail such as: they have a space heater, you can borrow DVDs and watch them from the bed, printer and wifi on every floor and other little bits that big chains don't think about. There are a couple of disadvantages, essentially it is a typical English house with narrow stairs and 3 floors so if you do have trouble walking, just ask for a lower number room :) . Also, there is no reception which can be a disadvantage if you need something in a hurry but they are always available and a phone call away and for me I preferred the privacy. This place is so great that I can only think of a few little things to improve, such as having disposable slippers and even though the street is quiet, double glazing windows would complete the experience to absolute perfection.

"Great location"
Quick check in and good on-site car parking. Room was clean, comfortable and well fitted. Simple outside door system made fiddling with keys unnecessary. Breakfast was reasonable; the cooked option covering the basics well. All in all an enjoyable stay.

"Lovely hotel and lovely people who run it!"
We normally stay at chain hotels but I think with this experience we have now changed our minds. The two staff members who were running it were very hospitable, helpful and friendly and the place itself was unique, cosy and clean. We loved the deco and decided to steal some ideas for our place. Breakfast was delicious and made exactly to our liking with lots of gluten free options. Room 4 was spacious, attractive and comfortable, shame we couldn't spend longer in it. The only negative thing I can think of is when getting back from our gig late at night, it was a bit chilly in the room though the heat was on (it's an old building very close to the sea front so the Windows let in some cold - though heating may have been turned down for the night), but we soon heated up after jumping under the covers so this was a none issue for us. Would definitely recommend and come back, made Brighton even more enjoyable and interesting!

Pocket Guide: Bed and Breakfast Hotels in East Sussex

Staying in a bed and breakfast hotel in East Sussex is the perfect way to have an affordable break either by the sea or in the heart of the countryside. Whether it's an overnight stay, a long weekend or even a week's holiday, a bed and breakfast hotel makes a great base for your break in East Sussex, no matter how you intend to spend your time.

Choosing a Bed And Breakfast Hotel in East Sussex

As the county is home to some of the best known seaside towns in the United Kingdom, it's no surprise that many of the region's bed and breakfast hotels are beside the sea. These are perfect for people who want to enjoy the area's beaches and other amusements, and dine out at some of the great restaurants.

There are more bed and breakfast hotels in the East Sussex countryside, offering rural locations that are idyllic for ramblers, climbers and cyclists looking for a more active holiday exploring the stunning scenery.

What to Expect from an East Sussex Bed and Breakfast Hotel

Particularly popular with couples and young families, a bed and breakfast hotel offers you a clean, comfortable room in which to rest, and a tasty breakfast (usually included in the price) to set you up for the day ahead. Most offer double and twin rooms and several even offer family rooms as well.

Most bed and breakfast hotels offer the usual amenities you'd expect, such as en-suite bathrooms, coffee and tea making facilities and toiletries, but many also have modern offerings such as free Wi-Fi for guests and in-room digital TV and DVD players. This, of course, gives guests more choice when it comes to entertainment and is particularly useful for families with young children.

Bed and breakfast hotels are a great way to enjoy all that East Sussex has to offer, by giving you a great base, delicious breakfast and a choice of top locations. Whether it's a rural retreat or a seaside getaway, a bed and breakfast hotel can help you plan the perfect East Sussex holiday for you and your family.
