"Lovely old fashioned, traditional English hotel"
Booked this hotel as a birthday treat for one night. The hotel is literally a quick 10 minute walk from St Leonards Warrior Square, and I enjoyed the walk along the seafront. Also/alternatively there is a taxi rank outside the station if you go up the ramp and across the bridge to the other side.
From the outset I was impressed with this hotel. I had a lovely welcome at the front desk, was given details and all keycards promptly. Going upstairs I loved the stairwell, beautiful old fashioned furniture etc. Imagine this hotel tries to represent the large mansion type houses from years ago.
Room lovely (fourth floor, twin beds, sea view room), but a bit stuffy because windows only open a little bit, so requested a fan to be brought to the room, was there within five minutes.
Beds really comfortable, large closet, nice bedside tables and ornate lamps, flatscreen TV, all coffee and tea wares + kettle, even UHT milk and a little mini fridge (unstocked but useful) with a bottle opener on a chain!!! Additionally, my room had a little separate study area with a small sofa and a dressing table + mirror - lovely addition! Bathroom simple but clean, bath and mixer taps for the shower, basin and loo with a overhead light on the mirror over the basin.
Overall, you can see it's all really been thought through!
Breakfast buffet really nice, friendly staff, and a good selection, and included in the final price I paid for my room; well worth it.
