"Excellent themed hotel close to beach & central. "
The hotel Pelirocco could not be faulted, 5 stars. There is an underground car park below the pleasant park opposite so 5 minutes from car securely locked up to hotel. Very friendly and informative staff checked us in (we were early too) and gave us leaflets and a map of Brighton. The hotel is very clean and comfortable and has the added character of interesting pictures and photos on the walls. There was a live band in the bar the first night (wednesday) but we were out for a show so we missed it. The breakfast was excellent and fast. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the Pelirocco hotel.

"traditional, comfortable hotel "
A traditional, very comfortable hotel close to Eastbourne's amenities. Superior room was spacious and modern, with everything you could want, although a fridge might have been a nice extra. No air-con, which wouldn't normally matter in the UK but we were there on the hottest days of the year so far - windows open at night meant a bit of noise from passing traffic and late revellers

"I Guess That's Why They Call It The View."
Arrived in the evening to be greeted by a friendly and helpful receptionist. Was quickly checked in and made my way to my room. At first, it seemed a little small and unremarkable. However, come the morning I opened the curtains and was greeted by the most spectacular "View" of the South Coast beach. Made my way to breakfast where there was a large range of hot and cold fayre. This hotel is one minute's walk from the beach and 15mins (tops) from Eastbourne town centre/station. In the evening the hotel's restaurant serves large servings of a variety of meals and there is also a bar where live entertainment is sometimes performed. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and the staff were fantastic. Just a side note though, The clientele of The View is on the more 'seasoned' side and there were no young families in the place (it wasn't school holidays so that would be the main reason) or many in Eastbourne for that matter. For that reason I can't honestly tell you if this hotel is suitable for Mum, Dad and their 2.4 'lively' kids.

"Nice hotel next to the beach. "
This hotel is certainly 'grand' and with its many seating areas, maintains true Victorian style. Good location at the quiet end of the sea view road. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms clean & comfortable with all the facilities; tea, coffee, TV and modern bathroom. The Garden Restaurant had ambience and the food was varied and flavoursome; however, service in the evening was at times, slow. The indoor pool is small and too warm for my liking, but outdoor pool lovely. Treatments are available but need to book on arrival to ensure a slot. I would recommend this hotel for those who want to relax; not really suitable for children.

"Quiet, clean, close to the beach"
For a single occupant the room was of a decent size, as was the bed. Everything was clean and in good condition, i particularly liked the shower- nice n powerful. Provided in the room was an iron and kettle, along with a nice selection of teas as well as the usual bathroom toiletries you'd expect. There was a small alcove in the corner that acted as a sort of open wardrobe with a hanging rail. There was a shared balcony with chairs and tables, which got a fair bit of direct sunlight in the afternoon. Hotel was close to the beach, literally about a minute or twos walk, close enough you can see it from the balcony. There's also a nice large lawn area out front if you'd rather sunbathe on grass than on pebbles. Most of the other people staying seemed to be middle aged or older and there aren't any clubs close-by, so things were quiet at night. Staff were polite and helpful, they even set out some free cake one morning for guests to help themselves to.

"Close to pier and comfortable room"
I took my mum here for the weekend in July. The room was basic, but had everything we needed. The bathroom was modern and a good size. If we went back to Brighton, we would probably stay there again.

"Good hotel close to the beach "
Friendly owners made us feel welcome as very helpful with local places to eat. Room was clean and had plenty of space for us and the children. We only stayed 1 night but had an enjoyable experience.

Pocket Guide: Adventure Sport Hotels in East Sussex

There are a number of adventure sport hotels in East Sussex that are perfectly located for those looking for a more adrenaline-fuelled holiday, partaking in some of the activities the area has to offer. There is a choice of stylish, luxury hotels and more budget-friendly inns and guesthouses so you can be sure to choose accommodation that's right for you, no matter what you plan to do on your break.

Choosing an Adventure Sport Hotel in East Sussex

Adventure sport hotels naturally attract different types of visitor depending on the location and type of activities on offer. In East Sussex, thanks to the coastal location and beautiful countryside, adventure sport hotels attract everyone from hikers to surfers, with plenty of others in between.

When choosing your hotel, consider the type of activity you'll be doing during your stay. Surfers will likely want a hotel close to the beach and may pick from the many guesthouses and hostels in the local seaside towns. Ramblers may well want an out-of-town hotel with accessible hiking routes nearby and plenty of amenities within the hotel itself. If your chosen activity is likely to leave you in need of some rest and relaxation at the end of an energetic day, you may wish to consider a more luxury hotel with spa facilities to help ease those aching muscles!

    Adventure Sports in East Sussex

As well as the more usual adventure sport activities, the East Sussex area plays host to a host of activities for the more adventurous among us. At Woodland Adventures, you can take part in laser combat - a fun alternative to paint-balling - or you can go dry slope skiing or snowboarding at the Knockhatch Ski & Snowboard Centre. Extreme Ventures offers rock climbing lessons at Harrison Rocks in Birchden Woods - likely to leave you in need of a good meal and a comfy bed.

It's only fitting that an area so stuffed full of activities should have such a wide choice of accommodation types to match. Whether you're climbing, hiking, skiing or surfing in East Sussex you can find the ideal adventure sport hotel nearby whatever you style and whatever your budget.
