"Wonderful, historic hotel with huge grounds"
We had a great here. The rooms are extremely comfortable and the hotel building itself is stunning. We visited the very nice pool and spa, the llama farm at the edge of the grounds and went on one of the hotel's detailed walks into the beautiful Ashdown forest. Drinks and food are very expensive, and the restaurant was Ok, rather than fantastic. BUT we had an amazing time and would definitely return here. The staff were brilliant.

Best Western Lansdowne Hotel

I only stayed one night and didn't eat in the hotel. But it was clean and smart though a little old fashioned - a typical seaside hotel. Sadly I was on the 3rd floor with the life out of action from the ground to the 1st floor. I was down many corridors so I left my suitcase in the car and just took overnight stuff as I have a bad back. To be fair I was offered help to carry the stuff but I went up the stairs behind an elderly lady who was struggling to manage the stairs to the first floor.

"Lovely hotel in a great location"
Arriving by train, the hotel was easy to find and as it was our first visit to Brighton it was great that the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful in advising us of where to go and what to see. Our room was light, airy, comfortable and spotless - and we enjoyed the variety of teas on offer. Breakfast was delightful with much attention to detail in the sourcing of ingredients - and as we were there for a leisurely weekend - the opportunity for a little Buck's Fizz was much appreciated! The complimentary organic cakes were a treat after returning from a morning or afternoon's activities. We would not hesitate in returning to Brighton House - thanks to all for a really lovely stay.

"Quirky hotel close to all Brighton has to offer"
The owners were really helpful and friendly. Our room was upgraded as they didn't have a booking for the premier room so the lady said that she likes to give people her best possible room. They were very obliging and we're happy for our son, who lives in Brighton, to join us for breakfast ( which was one of the best I've ever tasted). A really good find! Thank you- we'll be back.

"Short Stay"
My stay in Buxted was probably too short to make other than a superficial judgement of the hotel and its facilities.

"Convenient and reasonably priced "
I was pleased to see a bath in the room and not just a shower. Bed was comfortable but there is noise from the nearby main road. Leaving the hotel and turning right onto the road is not for the faint hearted! Beautiful gardens with places to relax. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed on Monday so I was not able to rate the food.

"Wonderful & Personal"
What a great surprise this hotel is. Just the right size as bigger Chains can fell impersonal, felt relaxed the moment we walked through to reception. Checking in was a breeze The staff were very attentive and professional . The room seemed bigger on pictures on website but to bee honest it was perfectly proportioned. Wonderful touches for guests.

"Comfortable B&B close to beach"
Easy access to St Leonards Warrior Square train station and buses, right beside the beach. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room billed as luxury double but would be very cramped for two. Although the bed was very comfortable, there were no armchairs, just stools. Tasteful décor and well equipped. Good bathroom. Excellent and generous breakfast on offer.

There is a choice of stylish, luxury hotels and more budget-friendly inns and guesthouses so you can be sure to choose accommodation that's right for you, no matter what you plan to do on your break.

Choosing an Adventure Sport Hotel in East Sussex

Adventure sport hotels naturally attract different types of visitor depending on the location and type of activities on offer. In East Sussex, thanks to the coastal location and beautiful countryside, adventure sport hotels attract everyone from hikers to surfers, with plenty of others in between.

When choosing your hotel, consider the type of activity you'll be doing during your stay. Surfers will likely want a hotel close to the beach and may pick from the many guesthouses and hostels in the local seaside towns. Ramblers may well want an out-of-town hotel with accessible hiking routes nearby and plenty of amenities within the hotel itself. If your chosen activity is likely to leave you in need of some rest and relaxation at the end of an energetic day, you may wish to consider a more luxury hotel with spa facilities to help ease those aching muscles!

    Adventure Sports in East Sussex

As well as the more usual adventure sport activities, the East Sussex area plays host to a host of activities for the more adventurous among us. At Woodland Adventures, you can take part in laser combat - a fun alternative to paint-balling - or you can go dry slope skiing or snowboarding at the Knockhatch Ski & Snowboard Centre. Extreme Ventures offers rock climbing lessons at Harrison Rocks in Birchden Woods - likely to leave you in need of a good meal and a comfy bed.

It's only fitting that an area so stuffed full of activities should have such a wide choice of accommodation types to match. Whether you're climbing, hiking, skiing or surfing in East Sussex you can find the ideal adventure sport hotel nearby whatever you style and whatever your budget.
