Excellent Hotel by the marina and close to city

Posted 25-May-2017
Pros: As above.
Cons: Parking is free on Friday & Saturday nights. However, chargeable at £7 on other nights. We would have booked elsewhere had we had to pay.
Location: Attractions of city centre and marina - all good. Museum area of old town. Yorkshire Wolds and Humber Bridge are close by and well worth a visit.
Stopped over for one night on B&B basis. Standard room was spacious and immaculately clean. Wifi signal was strong. Breakfast was excellent in a bright, airy room with a window wall looking out onto the adjacent marina. A good selection of hot and cold food items, well presented and stocked-up. Service at Reception and at breakfast was professional, efficient and welcoming. Location was a big plus, being at the marina, but really only a short stroll to the city centre and old town attractions. Marina area is being rejuvenated and I can see this becoming a main attraction for the city in the near future.

V pleasant hotel in good location

Posted 06-May-2017
Cons: Did think the pool area could do with a refurb to make more aesthetically pleasing.
Lovely short break in City of Culture! Hotel location good for all that and very comfortable to return to at end of day and restaurant very good.

Nice hotel overlooking the Marina in city centre

Posted 05-May-2017
Pros: The overall atmosphere and the helpful staff.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
Location: Right on the waters edge, in the busy part of town yet still peaceful. Only a very short walk to the main tourist attractions and city centre.
The booking in process, car parking and breakfast arrangements were all easily sorted. The room had a good view and made sightseeing easy. Breakfast was fine and the booking out went smoothly. No complaints at all.

Nice hotel central to all places

Posted 01-May-2017
Pros: Easy access to various points of interest in Hull
Location: Several museums well worth visiting and all free. Also the Deep is well worth a visit
We were met by a very pleasant lady. All details regarding our stay at the hotel were explained as she got the keys ready. She asked if we're visiting Hull for any particular reason and advised of places to visit and the best for food and drink

Great position by Marina and close to centre

Posted 27-Mar-2017
Pros: Position & good car parking.
Cons: Inadequate staffing - they were individually good but poorly managed.
Location: Busy road to cross, but all the main attractions were a short walk away.
Overall a pleasant experience, BUT we had to wait 20 mins for check-in (only one on duty and some 'difficult' people ahead). Also very slow service at dinner. Without exaggeration, waited 35 mins for the menu to come - and then it was the wrong version! Bit of a shame, because otherwise staff were cheerful and efficient - eg breakfasts were great. On second night we went across the road to ASK where the service was superb!

Friday night noisy

Posted 26-Mar-2017
Cons: notice about noisy nights
unfortunately wasn't told at booking or during checkin there was a tribute band on until midnight - very loud throughout hotel. Shame as had to work early the following morning...though hotel is fine itself. Just be wary of weekends!

Pros: Everything!
Location: Close to city centre and lots of shops, cultural attractions and museums
Clean hotel, friendly helpful staff, excellent food and lovely rooms which this time we were lucky to have a marina view. Close to city centre but quiet.

An ok hotel would probably not visit again.

Posted 12-Feb-2017
The hotel is located near a small boat bay ( you cannot see a great deal from the 'marina view' rooms. Located on the A63 there is a lot of hustle and bustle of the passing traffic outside. The room was lovely; well presented and clean but the bed had to be the most uncomfortable bed i've ever slept (or not slept) on. The evening meal was very tasty but the breakfast was mediocre. Hotel staff were friendly if a bit absent minded. I was not given the correct change after two attempts when paying for room service.

Disappointing

Posted 16-Jan-2017 on Ebookers
This hotel seemed quite dated in places & could do with some refurbishing. The rooms were nothing special & the bed mattresses were a little soft for my liking. The bathroom was a bit shabby, but spacious. But the shower was old, with only lukewarm water even on the hottest setting. The cleanliness of the room was poor. My bed has been slept in already! So either it hasn't been changed since the last visitor or the cleaner had been having a little nap! The sheets were completely creased & there were black hairs in the bed & on the pillow! So we ended up having to move rooms, where luckily the bedding was clean. The manager was very helpful though & offered us a free return stay. So maybe our next stay will be better? Breakfast was average, I find the breakfast in premier inn hotels much superior than this. Overall quite disappinting & definitely the worst holiday inn I've stayed at.
