Edinburgh Marriott Hotel Holyrood

Edinburgh Marriott Hotel Holyrood

8/10 Good
"Breakfast good, staff very helpful and professional. One drawback was the room. Only two small drawers for 2 people to put clothes for 5 nights! Had to dress out of cases all week. Room appeared to have a clothes cupboard missing g to put clothes! As a Bon Voyage member have stayed elsewhere and had plenty of clothes space. So dissapointed really."

8/10 Good
"Clean room, close to public transportation, beautiful views. Breakfast was good. Restaurant was closed for a private event (no prior notice given) when we arrived, which was disappointing as we’d had a long travel day and just wanted to get dinner and some rest. The front desk person that first evening wasn’t especially helpful. Quiet location. Decent stay overall."

Cairn Hotel

Cairn Hotel

8/10 Good
"Stayed with wife and 2 children (20 and 23) in the family room in July. This apartment is across the street from the hotel. Pros: the room was huge with a 2 story ceiling, Beds and pillows were good. King bed and a bunk bed. Very clean. On a quiet street one block off a main street. Staff was very nice and helpful. Cons: the bathroom. It was clean and the shower was fine. The sink was tiny, no place to put toiletries, but the worst thing was it had 2 faucets, one hot and one cold, so you had to decide if you were going to have real hot or real cold water when washing. I got adept at swishing my hands from under the cold water to under the hot to make my own lukewarm water. I couldn't figure out how to turn on air conditioner. The location was fine, about a 10-15 minute walk to the train station and Royal Mile. Did not have breakfast here. The neighborhood is very safe. I might go back, but at $500 per night I expected more."
