Ive stayed in some cheap hotels before. But this hotel is probably worst I’ve ever stayed in. There is too many bad things to list.

Great having private access to the rooms, however the stairs are very steep. The room had everything I needed for my short stay but it does feel a little unloved. I will be back.

Nice hidden gem
The room was spatious, clean and had all the basic amenities. I was pleasantly surprised considering the price and I'd definately stay again when I'm in the area. Food in the pub was also smashing, decently priced homemade food and you get a generous serving. Service was quick and staff friendly.

Disappointed
One of the worst places ive stayed, i waa looking for a base to work from when ive got jobs in the area. Checking in was easy and so was the parking. As soon as i went through the main door of the accommodation part i knew it was going to be bad. No working tv. Foisty smell. Lights not working properly. Very dated and dirty bed covers. I ended up sleeping with my clothes on on top of the quilt. There are much better places locally.

Pet Friendly and Great Food
The hotel is connected to a pub/restaurant. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food we had for dinner was excellent. We stayed here because we needed a dog friendly place to stay for the night and it was the closest to our meeting we had. The bed was super comfy the only problem was the bathroom and shower were unheated so it was very cold to go in there. But that being said we had a good night sleep and that is what we needed from our stay.

Homely clean and incredible value. Room was very quiet and just a stones throw from the railway station. The pub is comfortable and the food was excellent.

Terrible. Dirty, smelly . Rude staff very loud at night can hear everyone breathe in the other two rooms had to clean shower before using it mouldy silicon around shower base dust and dirt everywhere, dogey electrics

Very cheap, basic accommodation right next to the railway station, which was handy. Friendly staff. Room very basic, but adequate. Not the type of place you would bring a loved one for a romantic weekend away !!

it was clean ish. Although the bedding has seen much better days. There was a television but no remote so useless there. There were also used razors left in the shower (not what i wanna see) It was cheap and served its purpose but i doubt ill stay again

Decent little cheap and cheerful!
Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, right next to mini supermarket and two minutes to train station. Didn't hear any noise at night. It's not a fancy hotel, it's a few rooms above a pub- but I had nothing to complain about and did the job nicely.

Lovely place, friendly and convenient
Couple staying for leisure, visiting family. Booked last minute and had to change our requirements when I got there with no problem whatsoever. Jo behind the bar was very helpful, very friendly and recommended a take away for delivery, introducing the local delicacy of Parmo (Parmesan) which was very nice ;) Customers in the pub were also very friendly and chatty. Lovely area for eating and drinking in Stockton - on - Tees.

People were nice but the hotel is closed in the morning until 12:30 so no breakfast. There is only a grocery store in the walking distance that is open in the morning. If one needs something before noon, its close to impossible to find the manager or anybody else. The week-end its better as they serve breakfast.

Alright for the price
This hotel is a good place to stay if you are looking for a budget room when working in the area. The rooms are fairly spacious and relatively clean. The staff were helpful and friendly upon arrival and happy to assist with things during the stay. The whole place could probably do with a little modernization, but all in all, was alright for the price.

It's called the sportsmans hotel but it's more like a pub with rooms to let above,still it was clean and landlord was friendly enough,would stay again.Didn't do breakfast but advertised to the regulars at the weekend which was slightly disappointing.

It works. Just. If clean and safe at a good price is all you need then go ahead. The newly (?) refurbished Framboisette restaurant however is a delight. As a cook myself I know how they do it but there are some lovely dishes in here, emulating the offerings of high-end restaurants. Not expensive either.

Drove down from inverness and wanted to lie down but was greeted with a door that had been badly repaired after being kicked, hairs on the pillow and a radiator on full in the middle of july. :( Bedroom door had been kicked in at one point and badly repaired. Single bed had long black hairs on the pillow. Mattress was terrible and tiny Radiator had no control, was on full in july! Only one light switch for room and en suite. No bedside lamp or table. Teacup hadnt been washed. Window didnt work properly.

Overnight stopover
Hotel was booked as a stop over while going to croft motor circuit to watch BTCC racing. Room was inexpensive so wasn't going to be the Savoy. But the room was comfortable and very clean , the shower was ever red hot or cold , but did the job . There was no food as they were between cooks . But overall it did what was advertised and we would stay again if required. Two stars is about right.
