My second stay at Radisson Blu in Durham. Comfortable rooms and very quiet and just a short walk to the town center, castle and cathedral.
Beautiful, elegant, spacious, comfortable, Spa is luxurious, multiple ways to relax and be refreshed. Awesome massages with post-massage rooms for gently reentering after a great experience. Helpful staff; great food.

County Durham is a large region of England, with lots going on! There are big cities, such as Darlington and Durham, boasting fascinating historic landmarks, cosmopolitan bars and restaurants and lively high streets. Outside the cities County Durham is characterised by some stunning countryside, particularly in the protected area of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and along the beautiful Durham Heritage Coast. Dotted around the region you'll find some excellent hotels, many which aspire to a luxury standard by incorporating excellent spa services and facilities.
There is a particular kind of tiredness that comes with a holiday, that feeling of being absolutely exhausted after a long day, and yet completely happy! There are plenty of opportunities for getting tired and happy in County Durham, whether it's from cycling the many trails in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, or just exploring the historic parts of Durham or Hartlepool - where you'll find everything from excellent museums, to tall ships (including HMS Trincomalee) to Norman Castles and cathedrals.
Thankfully, great hotels aren't just places to stay, they're places to relax and unwind too - places where you can get away from it all and experience some of that all too rare me-time. Many of the top hotels in County Durham, particularly in the luxury end of the spectrum, offer generous spa facilities and services, including beauty and massage treatments, saunas and even mud baths. If you need the batteries recharging after a long fun-filled family holiday or just want to incorporate some relaxation into a luxury romantic break, a hotel's spa facilities is the place to do just that, and let your cares fall away surrounded by some amazing countryside.
You'll find lots of great spa hotels in Durham and the surrounding areas. The newly opened five-star luxury hotel, Rockcliffe Hall, just outside of Darlington, boasts extensive facilities and amenities, not only a golf course and great restaurants but also a spa that offers nine treatment rooms and a wide range of spa services, including everything from massage to Ayurvedic Treatments.
