"really nice to have an apartment that was clean. "
The apartment was clean, the couple that owned it lived in an attached apartment. They were kind and helpful. They supplied milk, bread, tea, coffee, sugar, butter, jam, good for light breakfast.

"Beautiful hotel gorgeous food and wonderful staff"
We love Rockcliffe hall even though we only live 20 minutes away we love staying here !!! This was our 9th visit to the hotel and we are never dissapointed !!! The only thing I would say is that the garden suite should be complimentary when staying at the hotel !! £30 each for only 2 hours I think is a lot to Ask !!!!?? I wouldn't mind paying if it was unlimited use!!!! Apart from that everything was perfect as always !!!!!

"Great. Lovely hotel, excellent Spa complex"
Had a 2 night mid-week break. Durham is 5 minutes away by car but park and ride stop is also close if you want to bus it in. The Spa is brilliant and free for hotel residents. The room was big and comfortable with a large bed. Staff are pleasant and efficient. The hotel has a carvery which is not well publicised but offers a good, early evening meal alternative for the more budget conscious of us.

"Beautiful venue but let down by the food"
First impressions were wow! My room was amazing. Beds comfy. Great sized rooms. However the restaurant to me was somewhat disappointing. The food was just about ok, but overpriced for what it was. And I was eating alone when most others were dining as couples. Service was pretty slow. I had to ask for more bread as none was offered with the rather meagre starter. Then I was charged for 2 glasses of wine on my bill when I'd clearly only had had one. No apology was forthcoming and I had to wait a while before they came back with the revised bill with the additional glass of wine knocked off. I would have thought they shouldn't charge for the glass I had had personally, and certainly what's happen ended when I have been overcharged elsewhere. If I were the manager I'd be starting improvements in these areas as this would really improve the overall level of satisfaction. This is a beautiful hotel and I would stay again despite these issues.

"Pleasant stay"
Found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We had a couple of problems but nothing too major. We were in the bridal suite as we were late booking our stay and that was the only room available. Four poster bed very squeaky when you moved so interrupted sleep. Shower took a while to get warm in the evening but fine in the mornings. However, overall we enjoyed our stay.

    City-Centre Luxury with Durham Hotels

Whilst the idea of a hotel set amongst the beautiful County Durham countryside represents the pinnacle of luxury, for others luxury means a good city-centre location close to quality bars, shops and restaurants. The Radisson BLU Hotel combines all the luxury amenities you'd expect from four-star accommodation - everything from free internet to an indoor swimming pool - with a convenient location in easy reach of Durham's top attractions, such as Crook Hall and Gardens, Durham Castle and Durham Cathedral. Durham luxury hotels will often have considerable business facilities, such as conference rooms and business centres, and are popular venues for meetings and conferences - particularly where there are clients to impress! A number of the luxury hotels in the County Durham region boast excellent business facilities, such as the four-star Best Western Beamish Hall Country House Hotel, which offers generous conference space.
