"Good and reasonably priced Hotel with Great Food The check in was a quick and easy process. The room was a good size with a decent sized table to use my laptop on, good amount of power points, and with the decent speed free internet made it a very useful stop over. The shower and bathroom were good, but let down a bit by tatty worn painting work, along with the extractor fan not being hoovered out and quite dusty. The window opening and fascia above were tatty and quite dirty. Unfortunately the bed was squeaky when you moved, and wasn’t too comfortable. The food in the bar was very good, good portions, tasty and reasonably priced. The staff in the pub were friendly and efficient, and the service was quick, including bringing the food out to us. The room was quiet and had good views of woodland at the back, and was not affected by any light from the front of the Hotel car park. The parking right outside the rooms were great, peace of mind the car was visible and good lighting in the car park, making it a reassuring feeling parking the car. At the price point it was a reasonably priced stop over."

"Hotel Indigo Durham – Stay 30th September & 1st October 2026 My friend and I stayed at Hotel Indigo Durham for two nights. The hotel is in an excellent location, with many of Durham’s sights and attractions within easy walking distance. I requested a quiet room and we were very pleased with the room we received. It was lovely and quiet, very comfortable, and the beds were extremely comfortable, giving us both a great night’s sleep. The bathroom was stunning, with a large shower which was a real pleasure to use. One of the highlights was the beautiful dining room. It is a stunning space and, in my opinion, worth staying at the hotel just to experience it. Breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked, served hot and made with good-quality ingredients. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We travelled from the train station to the hotel by Uber, which cost around £7 and was very convenient with our luggage. During our stay, we visited Durham Cathedral, which was beautiful and definitely worth seeing. Entry is free, although a £5 donation is requested. We were very happy to make a donation. The cathedral has also been used as a filming location for some of the Harry Potter films. We also enjoyed meals at 19Twenty Bar & Grill and Turkish Kitchen Meze & Grill, both of which were lovely. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. The excellent location, quiet and comfortable room, stunning bathroom, beautiful dining room and excellent breakfast made our visit very enjoyable. "Great Hotel, lovely ladies in reception. Very helpful. They give a sweet treat on arrival which is a nice touch and very yummy Bar nice for drinks/breakfast was good Room clean and comfy plenty of parking bus stop opposite: great if your visiting the uni. only negative was the room was very warm so it was a shame there was no air conditioning"
