Good value for money

Posted 03-May-2016
Pros: Cleaniness is good, room is comfort, a traditional hotel, quite away from Durham City Centre but is generally happy with the hotel and staff.
Cons: The shower was not working properly so couldn't get hot water, but the staff offered us another room to access the shower. Happy with the solution.
Location: Quite away from Durham City Centre, but easy access to bus stop, can get a bus to Durham city centre or to Newcastle.
Quite happy with the stay generally speaking, especially the place gave me a feeling of tradition.

Hotel receptionist was very helpful in directing us to an excellent local pub for dinner. Hotel was clean and tidy and quiet! Would use again.

1 night stay

Posted 13-Jan-2016 on HotelClub
Visiting relatives and friends in the NE we tried Days Inn for the first time. It is a budget hotel located within Roadchef Durham Services on the A1(M) and was adequate for the one night that we stayed. We didn't pay a lot, therefore we didn't expect a lot, but the accommodation was satisfactory. The only down side is that the only eateries are Costa and McDonalds. Couldn't connect to the free Wi-Fi either.

Cheap for a reason

Posted 25-Dec-2015
Pros: Staff were friendly
Cons: Décor of the room
Location: Near historic Durham city which is a good city to visit for a couple of days.
Room was feeling its age, wood laminate lifting, paint peeling in places. No restaurant or bar. Staff were friendly. Ok for a place to crash for a night but next time I may spend a little more and go for a hotel nearer the city.
