Hotel receptionist was very helpful in directing us to an excellent local pub for dinner. Hotel was clean and tidy and quiet! Would use again.

Cheap for a reason

Posted 25-Dec-2015
Pros: Staff were friendly
Cons: Décor of the room
Location: Near historic Durham city which is a good city to visit for a couple of days.
Room was feeling its age, wood laminate lifting, paint peeling in places. No restaurant or bar. Staff were friendly. Ok for a place to crash for a night but next time I may spend a little more and go for a hotel nearer the city.

Very easy to find and good value for money

Posted 25-Nov-2015
Pros: Every thing you needed at a good price.
Location: Durham City and Cathedral are wonderful places to visit and people are so friendly and helpful.
We arrived on a cold day and the room was warm and comfortable. We choose to stay in for the evening and enjoyed the relaxation after a busy w/end at our daughters wedding. Having a sofa in the room was great.

Fine for a family stop over

Looking a little bit tired around the edges and with slightly smokey corridors but otherwise a decent stop over. Good sized rooms and very clean.

Spacious room. Very quiet. Pleasant staff

Posted 02-Nov-2015
Pros: Spacious room. Very quiet. Pleasant staff
Cons: Giving it a bit of a facelift. Cleaning the stair carpet. Providing decaff coffee.
Location: Well placed for Durham and its Park and ride
We first stayed here shortly after it opened as a RoadChef and it was excellent. Twenty years on it could do with a bit of a facelift - cleaning the stair carpet would be a good start

Comfortable & convenient motel

Posted 31-Oct-2015
Large, comfortable family room. V clean & surprisingly quiet. Very convenient for going into the centre of Durham (10 min drive). Also 1.5 miles from a lovely country pub (Old Mill) for an evening meal. Will definitely make this our regular stop-over when we visit Durham.
