"Nice central hotel"
We have stayed at this hotel a number of times, good central location, friendly staff and good gym and spa facilities. The upgraded room fees per night are expensive and not really worth the money.

"Beautiful venue but let down by the food"
First impressions were wow! My room was amazing. Beds comfy. Great sized rooms. However the restaurant to me was somewhat disappointing. The food was just about ok, but overpriced for what it was. And I was eating alone when most others were dining as couples. Service was pretty slow. I had to ask for more bread as none was offered with the rather meagre starter. Then I was charged for 2 glasses of wine on my bill when I'd clearly only had had one. No apology was forthcoming and I had to wait a while before they came back with the revised bill with the additional glass of wine knocked off. I would have thought they shouldn't charge for the glass I had had personally, and certainly what's happen ended when I have been overcharged elsewhere. If I were the manager I'd be starting improvements in these areas as this would really improve the overall level of satisfaction. This is a beautiful hotel and I would stay again despite these issues.

"Lovely hotel"
We were immediately moved to a much larger room after contacting reception. The first room was so small that I was unable to walk round the side of the bed. It would have also been impossible to sit up in bed without banging your head on the sloping ceiling! Food was excellent also a little expensive so ate out on our 2nd night at a local pub.

"Excellent B&B"
Keith and Pauline had thought of everything to make our B&B stay perfect, as well as being extremely welcoming hosts. Room spacious, immaculately clean and comfortable with bathrobes and fluffy towels. Little extras too numerous to mention but included welcome chocs, home made biscuits, fresh coffee & milk, variety of other hot drinks and water, all replenished on day 2! There was nothing extra we needed to ask for and Pauline had even thought of an extra bedside light for teenage son who may want to read later than parents! Breakfast really good too with homemade sausages, home cured bacon and other locally sourced ingredients. Daughter, who is nearby, joined us one morning, and us eating later to accommodate this was no issue at all. Although room slightly cooler than we prefer with rad on max and en suite quite compact, we would not hesitate to recommend and will definitely return. Thankyou!

"Nice hotel, lovely location, great breakfasts"
Lovely location facing a big deer park which unfortunately was closed for the winter but they still came right up to the fence. Ate in the brasserie on both nights, excellent food and very friendly staff. Would definitely stay again.

Pocket Guide: Conference Centre Hotels in Durham

County Durham in the North East of England an important business and economic hub, where you'll find some of the United Kingdom's liveliest and most successful cities, including Durham, the county town, Darlington and Middlesbrough. Always on the cutting edge of commerce, the region is at the forefront in sectors as diverse as the chemical industry, creative industries, and tourism. If you're travelling to County Durham for a conference you're in luck, as the region boasts some excellent conference centre hotels - not only in the big settlements, but also in more rural locales.

The Benefits of Durham Conference Centre Hotels

Conference facilities are a common feature in modern hotels, especially if they cater for business travellers, offering business centres, free internet and other corporate-friendly facilities. Conference facilities will vary from hotel to hotel, differing in terms of their capacity, additional extras etc., however they will typically offer audio visual equipment, refreshments and be presented in a professional manner. Location is also an important consideration, and many conference centre hotels enjoy convenient city-centre locations, easily accessible by car or public transport. However, more and more rural hotels are choosing to offer conference and business facilities, especially the larger country home establishments. A conference centre hotel doesn't necessarily mean a modern hotel, with many magnificent period buildings offering excellent conference and business facilities, such as Crathorne Hall Hotel, which is located in Yarm.

Conference Centre Hotels in County Durham

Many of the conference hotels in County Durham are concentrated around the major cities, the largest of which isn't Durham, but actually Darlington. The Holiday Inn Darlington is located just outside of the city, easily accessed just off the A1 and boasting a range of corporate amenities, including free WiFi and conference rooms. Many conference attendees will be arriving in the county from overseas, and so may choose a conference centre hotel that's in easy reach of the main airport, Durham Tees Valley. There are several hotels and guesthouses in County Durham that meet this criteria, including Redworth Hall Hotel, which, just like The Holiday Inn Darlington is located just of the A1.
