Stayed for three nights while visiting ralatives in the area. It's a very pleasant hotel in a great setting and friendly and helpful staff.
Easy to find, plenty of parking, warm welcome by friendly staff, comfortable rooms (& beds), great breakfast. A short distance from Durham University & Durham City Centre. A pleasant and enjoyable stay - no complaints. Would definitely use again.
On outskirts of Durham, about 10-15mins drive from city centre. Friendly staff, very helpful. Room is fine - clean and neat, although not luxurious. Our room was very quiet, and good temperature. Breakfast is not in hotel, but in the next door gym - basic breakfast but fine and good value.
We had a very relaxing stay at Ramside hall after a full on 60th birthday. We had spa treatments and took full advantage of the first class spa facilities. We dined in the Asian fusion restaurant and had a delicious breakfast one morning. All the staff were helpful and friendly but still professional. ...

County Durham in the North East of England an important business and economic hub, where you'll find some of the United Kingdom's liveliest and most successful cities, including Durham, the county town, Darlington and Middlesbrough. Always on the cutting edge of commerce, the region is at the forefront in sectors as diverse as the chemical industry, creative industries, and tourism. If you're travelling to County Durham for a conference you're in luck, as the region boasts some excellent conference centre hotels - not only in the big settlements, but also in more rural locales.
Conference facilities are a common feature in modern hotels, especially if they cater for business travellers, offering business centres, free internet and other corporate-friendly facilities. Conference facilities will vary from hotel to hotel, differing in terms of their capacity, additional extras etc., however they will typically offer audio visual equipment, refreshments and be presented in a professional manner. Location is also an important consideration, and many conference centre hotels enjoy convenient city-centre locations, easily accessible by car or public transport. However, more and more rural hotels are choosing to offer conference and business facilities, especially the larger country home establishments. A conference centre hotel doesn't necessarily mean a modern hotel, with many magnificent period buildings offering excellent conference and business facilities, such as Crathorne Hall Hotel, which is located in Yarm.
Many of the conference hotels in County Durham are concentrated around the major cities, the largest of which isn't Durham, but actually Darlington. The Holiday Inn Darlington is located just outside of the city, easily accessed just off the A1 and boasting a range of corporate amenities, including free WiFi and conference rooms. Many conference attendees will be arriving in the county from overseas, and so may choose a conference centre hotel that's in easy reach of the main airport, Durham Tees Valley. There are several hotels and guesthouses in County Durham that meet this criteria, including Redworth Hall Hotel, which, just like The Holiday Inn Darlington is located just of the A1.
