"A really lovely stay"
My husband and I stayed overnight and what a pleasant night it was. We were greeted with the friendly lady at the check in desk who arranged a booking in the restrurant, the room was cosy and very clean and the bed was really comfortable. The hotel itself is beautiful both inside and out. Our meal at The Stables was delicious and our waiter was so helpful and super friendly, he even told us about the history of the hotel as we'd said we'd been to the Beamish Museum earlier that day and he gave us a little tour of the beer making process they have on site. I couldn't fault anything with this hotel and I would highly recommend.

"Hotel a bit chilly"
Staying in November would have expected heating to be set a bit higher. No heating on in corridors and room and lounge on the chilly side. Informed Reception and heating turned up.

"Nice hotel shame about the drive. "
Very pleasant stay at the hotel. Check in was easy and quick with very friendly staff. We stayed in one of the newer cottages as they were fully booked. Newly furnished most of the amenities worked well. Other than a few niggles we would stay again. Title refers to the driveway to the hotel which is steep full of pot holes and speed bumps.

"Not your standardised boring 'travel' hotel"
In Hartlepool for one night (Saturday) to attend a family Christening. Plenty of parking available but could hear very loud music coming from a wedding party downstairs. We couldn't hear any of it from our very spacious room on the 2nd floor. Very clean & comfortable room with en-suite bathroom. The staff at the hotel are all friendly & professional. We had a slight problem when checking in as the system said 'room only' -luckily we had printed off the Expedia booking confirmation that said breakfast included so they accepted that. The breakfast choice was excellent & served in a lovely dining room. Unfortunately the cooked part of it was not good -I think it was ready at 7a.m. (apart from the eggs) and we ate at 9 so it was overcooked & nearly inedible. If they can find a chef who can cook a good breakfast this would be an excellent place to stay.
