Don't go there

Run down and very small rooms, noisy reception and restaurants area, reception services need some serious improvements

Heat was not working

Pros: The Staff and Location
Cons: Yes, bath/shower is a night mare to get into and out off, almost broke my neck trying to get in and out
Location: Convenient to restaurants and shopping and on the beach
PR Manager offered to send us Space Heaters and we did not receive them, the next day after I complained again they sent a Technician who discovered that is was needed to be fixed

Great location and beautiful hotel. The Grill - Mr Piraki made our dining experience. A fabulous man with a wealth of knowledge. The staff uniforms in the hotel are not necessarily, rather unacceptable and highly offensive.

I love the Oyster Box. They just need to ensure that room quality is kept up. I see it slipping.

Just a Great Hotel

A great hotel with a few downsides during our stay. With such a premium hotel would have thought that the bathroom would be a little larger, e.g. 2 basins. Room size was acceptable. Front desk was not also too sharp - ordered a corkscrew which never arrived - should not happen in this great hotel. Waiter's attention in the bar downstairs (Oyster Bar) was poor - with 6 staff 'hanging' around it should not happen that the guest has to get up and ask for service. Needless to say these were minor issues - we will be back just keep up the standard.

First rate hotel, worth making Durban a destinatio

Pros: The service, the breakfasts, the restaurant, the location, the common areas, the decor, the art, the pools, the views, the room
Cons: The singer in the bar downstairs was terrible
Location: Don't bother. The restaurant Isle Meurice very nearby is good but not great
We expected to spend some time looking around Durban and the area but spent all our time in or near the hotel instead.
