Checking-in for Dummies: Including Maps…
Posted 15-Apr-2017 on Hotels
Usually, I like a bit of foreplay with my reviews, but I’m going to go straight in with the specifics on this one: the reception for the apartments is a few blocks away on Via delle Oche. I’ve attached a picture to this review to show you exactly where (the blue dot is the location of the apartments and the red pin is the Hotel De Lanzi where you need to go to check-in). I’ve read some of the reviews that say it’ll take you 10 minutes out of your way… this is only true if you crawl there backwards, although it’s still a bit of an inconvenience if you’re dragging your luggage around with you. Oh, and while I’m on that, if you’re arriving early to drop off your bags – head to the Hotel De Lanzi with them – they store them there and not in the building housing the apartments.
When you do eventually check in, you’ll be escorted back to Piazza Repubblica by a member of the reception team who will show you how everything works and where everything is. The room itself was nothing special - it was well decorated (including a ceiling fresco), but the furniture looked a little run-down - even if they were going for a ‘shabby chic’ vibe. The bathroom had more of a 1970’s feel to it, and was a little cramped, but for the price I paid and given the location of the room, I don’t feel I can complain too much.
