This may not be the most luxurious of places to stay, but it was comfortable, clean and the location is amazing.

Checking-in for Dummies: Including Maps…

Posted 15-Apr-2017 on Hotels
Usually, I like a bit of foreplay with my reviews, but I’m going to go straight in with the specifics on this one: the reception for the apartments is a few blocks away on Via delle Oche. I’ve attached a picture to this review to show you exactly where (the blue dot is the location of the apartments and the red pin is the Hotel De Lanzi where you need to go to check-in). I’ve read some of the reviews that say it’ll take you 10 minutes out of your way… this is only true if you crawl there backwards, although it’s still a bit of an inconvenience if you’re dragging your luggage around with you. Oh, and while I’m on that, if you’re arriving early to drop off your bags – head to the Hotel De Lanzi with them – they store them there and not in the building housing the apartments. When you do eventually check in, you’ll be escorted back to Piazza Repubblica by a member of the reception team who will show you how everything works and where everything is. The room itself was nothing special - it was well decorated (including a ceiling fresco), but the furniture looked a little run-down - even if they were going for a ‘shabby chic’ vibe. The bathroom had more of a 1970’s feel to it, and was a little cramped, but for the price I paid and given the location of the room, I don’t feel I can complain too much.

Amazing hotel right in the heart of Florence. Couldn't have asked for a better location! Really nice spacious room.

Smack Dab in the Middle!

Very Comfortable. Wi-Fi limited to one person at a time. Check in with car is a slight hassle. Excellent location.

No lobby, no hot water, no daily cleaning, no WIFI

Posted 02-Jun-2016 on Hotels
I don't have too many positive things to say about this "hotel" - only that I should have read the fine print more closely. PROS: - Location is excellent. CONS: - There is no lobby. To check in or check out, you have to walk 3 city blocks (5-10min) and drag your luggage with you. It is not only inconvenient, but it is UNSAFE (as any number of people live and can enter the building) and you have no one to ask for directions, recommendations, etc. - There was no hot water in the morning and the receptionist was quite rude about it even though I knew my neighbor already complained. - No daily cleaning. - No WIFI - you can pay around 5-20 euros for access. - Accessibility issues - I would not recommend it for handicapped or older people (there are 2 flights of stairs before you get to the very small and very old elevator). - View of a wall; deceptive pictures (my room was much shabbier)
