Well, I do not really like writing reviews because I do not believe I am statistically a good sample of the population. plus i don't really like writing bad reviews but I guess bad reviews are as good as good reviews. it helps both hotels and travellers to improve. I stayed in this hotel for one night and here's my 100% honest review:
I found the staff of this hotel to be little Stars! very kind and cheerful people, smiley and very friendly faces..
The hotel itself faces very nice hills..very peaceful and calm. Traffic was surprisingly relatively busy for such a small village. The hotel itself is modest, the room I stayed in could has been cleaner with no much efforts. The carpet smelled a bit but it was not uncomfortable. it was like the smell of your friend's flat for example...
yes, i would say, the hotel looked just as a nice normal family house. I would certainly stay there again in future and I would highly recommend it with no hesitation.
The room was a decent size, nice, clean and secure. The staff were lovely, although I don't recommend the chips which weren't that great. The hot water takes a while to turn on but overall quite pleasing.
Hotel was very quiet, felt a little bit old fashioned. Staff were very helpful but sometimes a bit hard to locate e.g when we wanted to check out.
Room was clean and comfortable but quite small for the rice paid. Needing a touch of retiling in bathroom.
Food was excellent, well cooked and promptly served. Menu slightly innacuarate eg. whether veg were included, exact description of dishes.
This rural area, on the north bank of the River Clyde, was once the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Strathclyde. Visitors are drawn to historical sites such as Dumbarton castle, where William Wallace was once imprisoned. The castle sits on Dumbarton Rock, a popular rock-climbing spot. Cruises can be taken from Balloch to explore Loch Lomond, and Glasgow City Centre is 45 minutes away by train.
