Nice hotel. They were doing some upgrading and renovations when we were there, I would be anxious to see the improvements they will make. We had one small issue with our room when we checked in, we reported it to the front desk and it was fixed very promptly. Overall we had a very good stay, and all the staff we encountered seemed to genuinely care.
A Family Owned Hotel Renowned For Its Friendlypersonal attention to its many regular and newguests a like. the hotel is …More
My husband n I were staying there for 2 day, we couldn't believe it was just above a fish n chips cafe, frankly a bit shocked. But staffs were absoluty friendly, room was nice n cozy, good location to the train station. And above all, breakfast was fantastic, we enjoyed it very much!
Had read mixed reviews but we had a locely stay. The hotel room we were in was a superior double at the end of a long corridor, top floor. Really quiet and nice decor. We returned from a wedding to find a bottle of wine on ice and some tablet and homemade shortbread. Very thoughtful. Although we were not up to drinking more alcohol! Staff all friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Only critiscism was that breakfast staff weren't that on the ball i.e. water jugs lay empty and no coffee or tea offered at our table but once mentioned to staff this was rectified. Lovely stay would definitely choose this hotel again.
I loved the location and our upgraded room. There were a number of activities to do at the hotel and nearby.
I'm working to resolve a billing problem now that I have arrived home, and I'm hopeful that it can be quickly resolved. I would definitely consider coming back here again for another stay at some point in the future.
Stayed two nights in the rooms and had a wonderful experience. Room was great, food was really good. Overall fantastic value for money too. Staff were brilliant and friendly, couldnt do enough for us. We will definitely be staying again next time we're in Scotland
Hotel was very quiet, felt a little bit old fashioned. Staff were very helpful but sometimes a bit hard to locate e.g when we wanted to check out.
Room was clean and comfortable but quite small for the rice paid. Needing a touch of retiling in bathroom.
Food was excellent, well cooked and promptly served. Menu slightly innacuarate eg. whether veg were included, exact description of dishes.
Its fine for somewhere to stay and for buisness ok but if your looking for something a bit special I would suggest somewhere else. There is nothing wrong with the hotel but just a bit like going back in time
"Beautiful B&B just 25 minutes from Glasgow Airport"
Rather than stay in a soulless airport hotel to catch a morning flight back to Canada, I found this beautiful B&B just 25 minutes away located near Loch Lomond. The room was large and comfortable and well appointed. Our hosts were lovely and friendly and steered us to great food and pubs in the nearby village of Drymen. Everything was what you would hope for in a country B&B.
This rural area, on the north bank of the River Clyde, was once the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Strathclyde. Visitors are drawn to historical sites such as Dumbarton castle, where William Wallace was once imprisoned. The castle sits on Dumbarton Rock, a popular rock-climbing spot. Cruises can be taken from Balloch to explore Loch Lomond, and Glasgow City Centre is 45 minutes away by train.
